Onew of the group SHINee issued a statement about his relationship with the so-called "Injection Auntie," who is suspected of providing illegal medical services to TV personality Park Na-rae, saying he "visited the hospital for skin care."
Onew's agency, Griffin Entertainment, released a statement on the afternoon of the 11th, saying, "Onew first visited a hospital in Sinsa-dong, Seoul, where the Injection Auntie works, in Apr. 2022 through a recommendation from an acquaintance," and added, "Given the size of the hospital at the time, it was difficult to recognize the medical license controversy that has recently erupted online."
Recently, as it became known online that Onew provided an autographed CD to the Injection Auntie, calls have emerged for an explanation regarding the possibility of involvement in alleged illegal medical treatment.
Griffin added, "Onew's hospital visits were for the purpose of skin care, and the signed CD was merely an expression of gratitude for the treatment," and said, "We express deep regret that stories unrelated to the facts about our affiliated artist are being indiscriminately amplified and reproduced."
