actor Heo Sung-tae appears as the first guest of MBN's Kim Joo-ha's Day & Night 'On a business trip' segment and takes part in an intimate one-on-one talk with Kim Joo-ha.
Recently airing MBN 'Kim Joo-ha's Day & Night' is a new-concept issue-maker talk show that promotes 'day and night, coldness and passion, information and emotion.' The 'On a business trip' segment, prepared as a corner of 'Kim Joo-ha's Day & Night,' has the concept of Kim Joo-ha and Moon Se-yoon and Jo Jjaeje coming directly to meaningful places where guests are instead of the studio to have frank talks.
In this context, in the fourth episode of 'Kim Joo-ha's Day & Night,' which will air on the 13th, as the first installment of 'On a business trip,' trusted actor Heo Sung-tae and Kim Joo-ha have an honest conversation at a place of memories chosen by Heo Sung-tae. First, Kim Joo-ha, given a hint by the production team, heads to the Dongdaemun Russian Street where the guest is, and meeting Heo Sung-tae beside an icebox in a corner of the Russian street creates an unusual atmosphere. Moreover, when Kim Joo-ha wonders about the identity of the icebox, Heo Sung-tae leaves a chilling remark, "There could even be a corpse in here!" that instantly freezes the air. Attention is on what Heo Sung-tae's significant remark actually means.
Next, Heo Sung-tae reveals that before becoming an actor he used his Russian major and worked in the overseas marketing department for Russia at a large company and debuted as an actor at the age of 35. Saying, "Becoming an actor was something I couldn't even imagine," Heo Sung-tae, who confessed to a severe childhood appearance complex, discloses the behind-the-scenes of how he changed his life by auditioning after seeing a TV audition program, saying, "I challenged an audition while watching TV." Questions grow about what caused the appearance complex that made Heo Sung-tae passive in childhood and what aftershocks struck when he quit his job with no acting experience to apply for the audition program.
While eating at a Russian restaurant and talking with Kim Joo-ha, Heo Sung-tae surprises by suddenly confessing toward Kim Joo-ha, "I like you, nuna!" which draws laughter. Heo Sung-tae, astonished by Kim Joo-ha's warm humanity rather than the charismatic image seen on TV, exclaims, "You're really down-to-earth!" and "I never imagined I would hear these words from Kim Joo-ha," expressing admiration. The unexpected action of Kim Joo-ha that won Heo Sung-tae over sparks curiosity.
Also, Heo Sung-tae says he initially refused the film 'Informant' in which he took his first leading role, explaining, "At the time I thought it was premature to take on a first lead." Interest rises in why Heo Sung-tae changed his mind and in his determination regarding his first leading role. The production team said, "Throughout the talk with Kim Joo-ha, Heo Sung-tae set an example with an attitude that showed honesty and humility," and added, "We ask for continued interest and support for the evolving talk-entertainment 'Kim Joo-ha's Day & Night' in various ways."
'Kim Joo-ha's Day & Night' unfolds a new form of 'talk-entertainment' by using the magazine office 'Day & Night' editorial office as a concept, with Kim Joo-ha as editor-in-chief and Moon Se-yoon and Jo Jjaeje as editors interviewing celebrities from all walks of life and directly covering various scenes. It airs every Saturday at 9:40 p.m.
