'Save Me! Homes' China special… with Captain Ddageo joining, the site visit became more abundant, Kim Sook "This is the poorest business trip I've ever had"
On 'Save Me! Homes,' Kim Sook showed loyalty by attending Yoon Jeong-su's wedding.
On the 11th broadcast, MBC's 'Save Me! Homes' Shanghai special attracted attention as China expert creator 'Captain Ddageo' joined to make the site visit even richer.
Kim Sook introduced Captain Ddageo as "traveling the world for seven years and gaining great popularity with China-related content."
Captain Ddageo described himself as "a local who attended elementary, middle, high school and university in China," and said, "I graduated from Tsinghua University's law department. I understand President Xi Jinping is an alumnus of my department," drawing interest from Kim Sook and the cast.
When asked "what kind of city is Shanghai to Chinese people," he said, "It is a symbol of wealth and the center of economic development," and explained, "As a first-tier city that led modernization, there is a saying: 'If you want to see 5,000 years of China go to Xi'an, 500 years go to Beijing, and 50 years go to Shanghai.'" His commentary further raised expectations for this global site visit.
Meanwhile, the broadcast also revealed casting behind-the-scenes stories and filming hardships. Kim Sook confessed, "This is the poorest business trip I've ever had," and said, "We shot for more than 30 hours, viewed five to six houses, and ate meals on the street."
Explaining the reason for the lack of time, Kim Sook hinted, "It was because of Yoon Jeong-su's wedding." Because she had to host Yoon Jeong-su's wedding the day after the Shanghai shoot, she started filming at 5 a.m., making it difficult to have a proper meal.
With the local Shanghai atmosphere and a China expert's commentary added, Save Me! Homes' first Asia megacity series received viewer praise for its abundant information and vivid on-site reporting.
