SBS 'Taxi Driver 3' Lee Je-hoon delivers a satisfying backhand to the 'match-fixing villains' with a next-level plan.
SBS's Friday-Saturday drama 'Taxi Driver 3' (writer Oh Sang-ho/director Kang Bo-seung/produced by Studio S, Group Eight, B.A. Entertainment) is a private revenge service about the veil-shrouded taxi company Rainbow Transportation and taxi driver Kim Do-gi carrying out revenge on behalf of wronged victims. In the third week of broadcasts it once again set a new personal-high rating, and it ranked first overall in the December first-week FUNdex TV popularity rankings, with cumulative video views surging past 107 million views (combined across SBS official SNS multi-channels), demonstrating an unstoppable run at the box office.
Meanwhile, ahead of episode 7 the 'Taxi Driver 3' side released images showing Kim Do-gi (played by Lee Je-hoon) meeting in the 'secret room' with villain Im Dong-hyun (played by Moon Soo-young), heightening curiosity about the background.
In episodes 5 and 6, Do-gi and the 'Rainbow Heroes' set out to uncover the truth of the 'Jingwang University volleyball team Park Min-ho (played by Lee Do-han) missing-body murder case,' which was the first revenge request to Rainbow Transportation 15 years earlier and the only unsolved case. In the process they discovered that volleyball teammates Im Dong-hyun (played by Moon Soo-young) and Jo Seong-uk (played by Shin Joo-hwan) conspired to kill Park Min-ho and secretly bury the body, and that those players are currently using the Jingwang University volleyball team to carry out illegal sports gambling and match-fixing. In addition, at the end of the episode a mysterious man behind the case surfaced, raising intense interest in whether the group can punish all the vicious villains who have gone unpunished for 15 years.
In related released stills, Do-gi's unexpected move is captured, sparking interest. Do-gi is alone with villain Im Dong-hyun inside the 'secret room' at the scene of the match-fixing crime, the health club. The two look as if they're holding a secret strategy meeting, and Do-gi's eyes as he approaches Im Dong-hyun show a burst of ambition and madness that provokes a smile.
Also, while Do-gi briefly steps away, section chief Park (played by Bae Yu-ram), disguised as a police officer, bursts into the gym and, swaggering as if to show off, loiters at the entrance to the 'secret room,' making the nervous Im Dong-hyun fidget and eliciting laughter. This raises curiosity about what scheme Do-gi has in mind in approaching Im Dong-hyun and his inventive corrective-education plan.
Meanwhile, in that episode the 'Rainbow Heroes' learn that Park Min-ho's disappearance 15 years ago is related to the Jingwang University volleyball team's match-fixing, and decide to use the ongoing match-fixing in reverse to find Park Min-ho. In this process Do-gi is expected to show ingenious moves by manipulating partnerships with the villains. Expectations grow for the birth of Do-gi's career-best my-way subcharacter who puppeteers the villains.
