'Jeong Seung-jae boarding house' drew attention when an unexpected interview applicant appeared.
Episode 3 of T-cast E Channel's Insaeng Taeryeojapgi: Jeong Seung-jae boarding house (hereinafter 'Jeong Seung-jae boarding house'), broadcast on the 10th, revealed the daily life on the second day at the boarding house, where the first-generation boarders are all exam students and studying, counseling about worries and housework were entangled, and an enigmatic mother-and-son applicant joined, saying "I came for an interview," delivering unpredictable fun.
That day Jeong Seung-jae visited Jun-woo's room, one of the first-generation boarders who is challenging his first college entrance exam, and conducted the previously promised "lesson 1 test." However, Jun-woo could not accurately explain Jeong Seung-jae's question about the concept of decimals, and Jeong Seung-jae buried his face in his knees and sobbed. Jun-woo recalled Jeong Seung-jae's words, "If you can't perfectly explain lesson 1, there's no meal," and could not easily leave his room. He stayed in his room even at dinnertime. Jeong Seung-jae immediately said, "Even if you don't eat, you should at least sit at the table," brought him to the table, and warmly took care of Jun-woo, saying, "Eat a lot." The boarders praised Jeong Seung-jae's samgyeopsal and kimchi fried rice as "fantastic!"
After the warm meal, Jeong Seung-jae, Jeong Hyung Don and Han Sun-hwa held a "closing meeting." They reviewed the notes piled in the boarding house suggestion box. Simple complaints poured in, such as "there's heavy noise from gaming earphones" and "it's inconvenient because of the downstairs toilet," and Han Sun-hwa became suspicious. It was eventually revealed to be Jeong Hyung Don's prank, making everyone burst into laughter.
After the day's work ended and he was sitting in the office, Jeong Seung-jae received a counseling request from Dong-wook, a third-time taker. He gave honest advice to Dong-wook, who dreams of becoming an entrance exam YouTuber. Jeong Seung-jae advised, "If there is already a number one, instead of imitating them, you should find your own color. But it is important to try imitating that person to learn the differences between you and them."
Counseling requests also went to "Uncle Doni" Jeong Hyung Don. Min-jae, a medical school student preparing for his ninth college entrance exam, lamented the difficulty of mental health management, saying, "I've been running nonstop and don't know how to relax." Jeong Hyung Don said, "Does it make sense to ask me (who has panic disorder) that?" but candidly shared his experience, saying, "It got so hard I took two breaks from broadcasting." He confessed, "After quitting broadcasting, I went to a friend's house to rest. One day I lay down on a bench and saw clouds drifting by. I had been living so busily that it was the first time I'd seen clouds drift like that." He sincerely advised, "If there's a moment you want to talk, try talking to someone."
Later Dong-wook asked Jeong Hyung Don, "If you could go back to being 21, what would you want to do?" Without hesitation Jeong Hyung Don replied, "I would buy S Electronics stock. Before I enlisted it was 14,000 won, and when I left the military it was over 400,000 won," delivering a laugh with a 200% realistic answer. Afterwards, returning student Min-young approached, saying she wanted "to combine erudition and wit," and he mechanically gave a thumbs-up, saying, "You're already doing very well," which made Jeong Seung-jae burst out laughing as he watched.
After finishing his late-night "Eun-jjok counseling center" duties, Jeong Hyung Don woke up first the next morning and prepared breakfast. He presented a strange combination of sliced bread with salted radish and left a note saying, "Choose cereal, ramen or sliced bread as you like," which embarrassed Jeong Seung-jae and Han Sun-hwa. Jeong Seung-jae hurriedly scanned the refrigerator, took out various ingredients and made curry. Jeong Hyung Don explained, "It was a self-directed breakfast," but after Jeong Seung-jae's reproach he went to the market to buy ingredients. After ups and downs Jeong Seung-jae's curry was completed, and the boarders tasted it and were moved, saying, "It's delicious." Jeong Hyung Don gave a thumbs-up, saying, "If this came out as a meal kit I'd buy it immediately." Jeong Seung-jae laughed, "Shall we try a curry business?" making the boarding house morning cheerful.
After breakfast, the peaceful boarding house was visited by two people in suits who said, "We came for an interview." Startled by the sudden visit, Jeong Seung-jae and Han Sun-hwa's eyes widened, and Jeong Hyung Don explained, "The mother applied on behalf of her son (to 'Jeong Seung-jae boarding house'). She tricked her son into coming by telling him it was a job interview." The mother complained, "My 26-year-old son sleeps all day or only looks at his phone. I want him to find a job so he can be independent." As the serious interview mood continued, the mother emphasized her strengths as a homemaker, saying, "I can cook most dishes" and "I don't sleep much," and Jeong Seung-jae welcomed her, saying, "She's the talent we were looking for!" Jeong Hyung Don also shouted, "Mother, you're hired!" adding to the laughter.
Led by her mother to the boarding house, Min-seo said in an interview with the production team, "I was so flustered I couldn't think of anything." The mother tried to leave her son and go back but couldn't bring herself to leave, so she went to the kitchen. She took a chicken from the refrigerator and made samgyetang. Jeong Seung-jae, Jeong Hyung Don and Han Sun-hwa tried to stop her, but the mother showed heartfelt maternal love, saying, "Please take good care of my son." Jeong Seung-jae conveyed his sincerity, saying, "I will take good care of him," touching the hearts of viewers.
