(Interview ① continued) EXO member and actor Doh Kyung Soo expressed his feelings about not attending his close friend Kim Woo Bin's wedding.
On the afternoon of the 11th at a café in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul, a wrap-up interview was held with Doh Kyung Soo, the lead actor of the Disney+ original drama "The Manipulated."
That day Doh Kyung Soo sighed with regret when the issue of not attending Kim Woo Bin and Shin Mina's wedding was raised. Kim Woo Bin and Shin Mina are set to marry on the 20th, but coincidentally that same day Doh Kyung Soo will participate in the EXO performance at the "2025 MMA," so naturally he will not be able to attend Kim Woo Bin and Shin Mina's wedding.
Doh Kyung Soo hesitated, saying, "Maybe I shouldn't say this," but added, "But it's obvious. It's work, so it's of course very important. The wedding is also very important, but if I think about what comes first, of course I think EXO comes first," and said, "It hurts my heart a lot, but I have to do better for Woo Bin. Of course Woo Bin understands that he can't help it, so there is regret, but it's something everyone understands, so it's okay."
When asked, "Are you going to compensate financially?" Doh Kyung Soo, visibly troubled, replied, "What should I do after this? I'm also worried about that. What kind of compensation should I give?" When it was suggested, "How about pre-recording a video letter or a congratulatory song?" he expressed concern, saying, "If I appear in a video, it might rather spoil the wedding atmosphere."
He confessed, "I was supposed to sing the congratulatory song. It was assumed I would sing it. I learned of the couple's wedding news early, and after that I ended up appearing in the 'MMA.' When the 'MMA' schedule came up, I worried about how to tell Woo Bin, but I had no choice but to tell him. He was very regretful. In my heart I was going to sing 'Popcorn' as the congratulatory song, and both of them were disappointed."
When asked who ultimately took the congratulatory song, Doh Kyung Soo joked, "I don't know. I was excluded from that. I became someone outside Woo Bin's view. It felt like, 'We don't need you!'"
Doh Kyung Soo said, "I only recently met senior Shin Mina for the first time. There weren't many opportunities to meet. I first greeted her at a Disney event, and it was for work, not privately. Woo Bin has known her for a long time. But even if you haven't watched closely how the two lived, the fact that someone you've known a long time is getting married is a truly blessed thing. From the side you could feel how healthy and happy their relationship had been, so I congratulate them very much."
He marveled, "You can tell at a glance that they'll just be happy. You could feel how happy they are. Even after a long relationship there's a pinkish sweetness. Recently he still gives flower gifts. On Pepero Day I asked, 'Hyung, what is this?' and he said he prepared it because it's Pepero Day. He even went into a convenience store to buy Pepero with pretty packaging. I'm not that kind of person. I'm not the type to pay attention to Pepero Day or birthdays, but seeing him even prepare flowers, I felt, 'Those two will inevitably be pinkish for life.'" Then, when asked, "Did seeing the two make you think about marriage?" he added firmly, "As for me, not yet.. I have no thoughts at all," drawing more laughter. (Continued in interview ③)
