Singer Kim Ho-joong's agency denied reports that while incarcerated on charges of drunken hit-and-run he appeared on stage at the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts during the Sejin Music Festival as a member of the Somang Prison choir.
On the 11th, a representative for Kim Ho-joong told OSEN, "It is not true that Kim Ho-joong appeared on stage that day at the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts as a choir member. He did not even go to the venue," issuing an official statement.
Earlier that day, one outlet reported that Kim Ho-joong appeared on the stage of the 42nd Sejin Music Festival 'Harmony of recovery and reconciliation' as a member of the Somang Prison Somang Choir.
However, Kim Ho-joong's side completely denied this and rebutted that he was not a member of the Somang Prison Somang Choir.
Meanwhile, Kim Ho-joong was arrested and prosecuted last May on charges that he, while driving under the influence in Apgujeong, Seoul, crossed the center line, collided with a taxi and fled the scene. It later emerged that he even instructed his manager to turn himself in as a proxy, sparking major controversy. He was sentenced to 2 years and 6 months in prison at both the first and second trials and is currently serving his sentence.<
