Actor Kim Ji-hoon won the 2025 Seoul International Film Awards institutional sector best actor award in the OTT category.
At the 2025 Seoul International Film Awards ceremony held on the 10th at the Halla Hall of Dragon City Hotel in Yongsan, Seoul, Kim Ji-hoon seized the OTT institutional sector best actor award for the Amazon Prime series Butterfly, once again proving his distinctive presence.
The 2025 Seoul International Film Awards marked its 13th year this year, and award winners and winning works were selected from films released and works aired on OTT platforms from Aug. 2024 through Nov. 2025.
The work Butterfly, for which Kim Ji-hoon won, is his first entry into Hollywood, and he played the cold and capable killer Gun, showing a striking presence. He received praise for presenting a new face through overwhelming visuals, realistic action acting, and a character portrayal that was cold but carried deep emotional lines.
After receiving the award and stepping onto the stage, Kim Ji-hoon said, "I am truly grateful to receive such a meaningful award. I will take it as a call to create greater influence and proceed more responsibly," and added, "This moment is truly an honor and a great encouragement. I will be a more hardworking, sincere actor."
Kim Ji-hoon, who debuted in 2002 in the drama Loving You, established himself as a genre powerhouse by perfectly portraying a psychopathic serial killer in Flower of Evil. He continued to create new defining characters in each work, drawing praise from viewers in Money Heist: Korea - Joint Economic Area, Love to Hate You, Ballerina, and I Jae, Soon to Die.
Especially in 2025, Kim Ji-hoon's activities were truly unrivaled. Including Butterfly, which earned him this award, he appeared in the SBS Friday-Saturday drama The Haunted Palace, the Netflix variety show Crime Scene Zero, the Netflix drama Genie, Make a Wish, the TVING original Dear X, and the currently airing tvN Monday-Tuesday drama Nice to Not Meet You. With performances across drama, OTT and variety, he once again solidified the label of a "reliable actor."
Kim Ji-hoon is an actor who does not rest on a fixed image or acting style and continually expands himself. As he shows new transformations in various works, expectations are focused on his next moves.
Kim Ji-hoon is currently appearing to viewers as Lee Jae-hyung, the owner of Sports Eunseong, a sweet character, in the tvN Monday-Tuesday drama Nice to Not Meet You, which airs every Monday and Tuesday at 8:50 p.m.
