'Judge Lee Han-young' depicts a three-dimensional narrative among a law firm, the courts and chaebol that raises anticipation for the main broadcast.
MBC's new Friday-Saturday drama 'Judge Lee Han-young', scheduled to premiere on Jan. 2, 2026 (planned by Jang Jae-hoon, written by Kim Kwang-min, directed by Lee Jae-jin and Park Mi-yeon), is a justice-restoration return drama about corrupt judge Lee Han-young, who lived as a slave to a giant law firm and returned 10 years into the past to punish great evil through a new choice.
The 'Judge Lee Han-young' side on the 11th (today) revealed the relationships among the law firm, the courts and chaebol that will pique potential viewers' interest, amplifying curiosity about the work.
# 'Legal profiteer' Nae Sang, Huh Hyung-gyu, Baek Seung-hee and Oh Se-young siblings stand on the side of darkness!
Hae-nal Law Firm, one of the country's leading law firms, accumulates wealth by routinely engaging in trial transactions under the direction of Kang Shin-jin (played by Park Hee-soon), senior presiding judge of the Seoul Central District Court's criminal division. Law firm chief Yoo Sun-chul (played by Nae Sang) carves into gaps in the law with his lawyer eldest son Yoo Jin-gwang (played by Huh Hyung-gyu) and second child Yoo Ha-na (played by Baek Seung-hee) to build their own fortress. Their youngest daughter Yoo Se-hee (played by Oh Se-young), who is not qualified as a lawyer, marries the clever and seemingly compliant Judge Lee Han-young (played by Ji Sung) and exerts influence throughout the judiciary. However, when Han-young, who has returned to 10 years ago, begins to turn his blade on them, cracks appear in Hae-nal Law Firm, and it becomes intriguing to see what moves they will make to stop him.
# Kim Tae-woo–Kim Byung-chun vs. Jung Hee-tae–Jang Jae-ho, court people split over Ji Sung and Park Hee-soon!
Inside the courts, two forces clash over Han-young and Shin-jin. Baek Yi-seok (played by Kim Tae-woo), chief judge of the Chungnam Provincial Court with an upright temperament, and Im Jeong-sik (played by Kim Byung-chun), Han-young's direct superior and senior presiding judge of the Chungnam Provincial Court's criminal division, firmly protect Han-young as he moves toward justice. On the other hand, Kim Jin-han (played by Jung Hee-tae), criminal division chief judge of the Seoul Central District Court and a close aide of Shin-jin, and Kim Yun-hyeok (played by Jang Jae-ho), a sole judge at the Chungnam Provincial Court who sees Lee Han-young as a rival, side with Shin-jin to obstruct the justice Han-young seeks to carry out. The spread of the fight over justice between Han-young and Shin-jin into the courts will further heighten the drama's appeal.
# Money as shield! Won Jina's enemy, S Group's Kim Byung-ki, and father-and-son Kim Beom-rae!
Another axis that shakes Han-young is S Group, Korea's top chaebol that treats the law lightly. S Group chairman Jang Yong-hyun (played by Kim Byung-ki) and his son Jang Tae-sik (played by Kim Beom-rae), head of S Shopping, are unafraid of illegality because Shin-jin, who holds power in the judiciary, has their back. But Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office prosecutor Kim Jin-a (played by Won Jina), entangled with Tae-sik by a past bad relationship, continues to pressure Tae-sik, and Han-young, connected to that case, also tightens the squeeze on S Group. Attention is focused on what repercussions the clash between unbridled evil and the returning good will cause.
In this way, 'Judge Lee Han-young' is set to captivate viewers with a rich composition of intertwined interests among characters and forces. MBC's new Friday-Saturday drama 'Judge Lee Han-young', whose dense development is highly anticipated, premieres on Jan. 2, 2026 (Fri.) at 9:40 p.m.
