'Reply 1988 10th anniversary (directed by Na Young-seok, Shin Geon-jun)' is a variety show that captures the 2 Days & 1 Night trip taken by the members of the drama 'Reply 1988' (hereafter Reply 88) as they celebrate the 10th anniversary. The actors who led the Reply 88 syndrome—Sung Dong-il, Lee Il-hwa, Ra Mi-ran, Kim Sung-kyun, Choi Moo-sung, Kim Sun-young, Yoo Jae-myung, Ryu Hye-young, Hyeri, Ryu Jun-yeol, Ko Kyung-pyo, Park Bo-gum, Ahn Jae-hong, Lee Dong-hwi, Choi Sung-won, Lee Min-ji—will all appear, and they are expected to present various content that summons legendary memories of the Ssangmun-dong alleys, including a 10th anniversary MT.
The Highlight video released today (the 11th) captured the outing of the five Ssangmun-dong families returning to 1988 and those days. Although 10 years have passed, their unchanged characters, fashion that summons memories, and the warm, festival-like atmosphere are conveyed as is, raising expectations. At the outing by the Gangwon-do sea, a variety of scenes—ranging from games to mukbang and chatter—that will fill a decade of longing are packed in, increasing curiosity.
The chemistry of the five Ssangmun-dong families is also an unmissable point. The wealthy Jeongbongi household in Ssangmun-dong grabs attention with cannot-take-your-eyes-off chemistry from Ryu Jun-yeol's welcome appearance, Ra Mi-ran, Kim Sung-kyun and the meeting of Ahn Jae-hong and Lee Min-ji, who formed a couple in the drama. In particular, Kim Sung-kyun made people burst out laughing by saying to Ra Mi-ran, the 'Cheetah madam' exuding wealth within the household, "She must have won the lottery again in the meantime." The family rich in enthusiasm, Deokseon's household, delivers laughs from the moment they appear with the still noisy, excitement-filled presence of Sung Dong-il, Lee Il-hwa, Ryu Hye-young, Hyeri and Choi Sung-won. Father Sung Dong-il, the doting father, grumbles, "I told you not to do that stuff," at the dance staged by the Sung sisters Ryu Hye-young and Hyeri, but soon mother Lee Il-hwa joins the dance, delivering a burst of laughter. Also featured is the youngest Choi Sung-won, drained by the energetic older sisters, and the unstoppable raucous activities of Deokseon's household already promise big laughs.
The special chemistry of the love-hate wealthy family Dong-ryong's household and the affection-filled Taek's household also draws anticipation. Yoo Jae-myung and Lee Dong-hwi bicker while playing games but provide laughs with affectionate chemistry that takes care of each other, and Park Bo-gum and Choi Moo-sung preview an all-time combination with their somewhat clumsy but close father-son chemistry. The activities of Seon-woo's household in Ssangmun-dong, featuring Kim Sun-young and Ko Kyung-pyo, are also noteworthy. Kim Sun-young, who explodes dopamine from immersion in the game and even shows signs of game addiction, and her son Ko Kyung-pyo, who exerts a distinctive presence with unrestrained talk, promise belly-holding laughter and raise curiosity.
