Actor Park Shin-hye returns as a unique character who will provoke obsessive immersion.
The new tvN Saturday-Sunday drama Undercover Miss Hong, scheduled to premiere on Jan. 17, 2026 (Sat) (directed by Park Sun-ho / written by Moon Hyun-kyung / planned by Studio Dragon / produced by Celltrion Entertainment, Studio Dragon), is a retro office comedy drama set at the end of the 1990s about 30-year-old elite securities regulator Hong Geum-bo (Park Shin-hye) who goes undercover as a 20-year-old entry-level employee at a securities firm where suspicious funds flows have been detected.
In the story, Hong Geum-bo, played by Park Shin-hye, deliberately lowers her age, education and pride to enter an undercover operation. A well-educated elite who is arrogant to the core and known as the "Yeouido witch," she is the first female regulator in the capital markets supervision division of the Financial Supervisory Service. The story unfolds as she, at age 35, takes on the heavy mission of living a second life as a 20-year-old high school graduate office worker, producing nail-biting situations.
Released stills capture Park Shin-hye's 180-degree transformation, showing both the perfect elite Hong Geum-bo and the bewildered "Miss Hong" Hong Jang-mi. From calm long hair to a lovely bob, and from wardrobe to the temperature of her expressions, Park Shin-hye's seasoned ability to inhabit contrasting characters is palpable.
Hong Geum-bo is a meritocrat who strives for perfection; the composed expression and subtly sharp smile in the stills seem to cool those around her rapidly. By contrast, the 20-year-old Hong Jang-mi, whom Hong Geum-bo is disguised as, shows the fresh visual sensibility of a workplace novice and carries a warm, bright energy rarely seen in Hong Geum-bo, giving a different impression.
As Park Shin-hye portrays two entirely different characters through the device of "disguise," anticipation centers on her performance, and attention is focused on how Hong Geum-bo, who barely overcomes the barriers of age and educational gaps to enter another world, will resolve the crises she faces.
Undercover Miss Hong will premiere on Jan. 17, 2026 (Sat) at 9:10 p.m.
