Comedian Cho Sae-ho appeared on the tvN variety show You Quiz on the Block after the controversy, but his broadcast time was effectively minimized.
On the Oct. 10 broadcast of tvN You Quiz on the Block, actor Jeon Won-ju and others appeared as guests, and Yu Jae-seok led most of the hosting.
In that broadcast Cho Sae-ho appeared on screen only by offering interjections or making brief supportive remarks. All main questions and the flow of conversation were carried out centered on Yu Jae-seok, and Cho Sae-ho's presence was noticeably reduced. It appears the production adjusted Cho Sae-ho's screen time in consideration of the recent controversy.
Cho Sae-ho was recently embroiled in allegations of ties to organized crime. An internet user identified as A alleged that Cho Sae-ho maintained a friendship with a man identified as a key figure in an illegal gambling money-laundering organization, promoted the franchise run by that individual and received expensive gifts from him.
In response, Cho Sae-ho said, "I reflect on not having managed relationships more maturely during a time when I met more people than before," but drew a line by saying, "The allegations raised because of that relationship are not true at all, as many people are worried." His agency also strongly denied the organized crime involvement allegation, saying, "It was simply an acquaintance relationship."
However, as the controversy prolonged, Cho Sae-ho decided to voluntarily withdraw from You Quiz on the Block and KBS2 2 Days & 1 Night season 4. tvN said in an official statement, "We respect Cho Sae-ho's intention to withdraw," and added, "The two weeks' worth of episodes that have already been recorded will air as scheduled, and from recordings after that Yu Jae-seok will continue as sole host."
That broadcast was one of the episodes scheduled after the withdrawal decision; although Cho Sae-ho appeared on screen, his presence was effectively limited. It was a minimal amount to the extent that one could say "Cho Sae-ho appeared without editing," but the focus of the hosting was clearly on Yu Jae-seok.<
