Actor Yun Da-hun said that at the peak of his career in 2000, he once earned 6.8 billion won in a year.
On the 10th, the entertainment industry said Yun Da-hun appeared on SBS' variety show Dollsing Fourman aired the previous day and said, "When I was in the sitcom 'Three Friends,' I once ranked No. 1 in personal income among entertainers."
He said, "I shot 48 commercials in a year back then. I filed my income in 2000 and saw that I earned 6.8 billion won," adding, "Shooting 48 commercials was also listed in the 'Korea Guinness Book.'"
At the time, Yun Da-hun dominated not only all kinds of home appliances but also every aspect of food, clothing and shelter, setting a record for the most commercial appearances.
He also addressed the misunderstanding about being a "dolsing." Yun Da-hun said, "Everyone calls me a 'dolsing,' but I have never been legally married. I only registered my daughter in the family registry after she came to me like a gift."
He added, "I am happily married now, but many people still think I am single."
Yun Da-hun, who debuted in 1983 through a special MBC open recruitment, became known to the public with 'Men of the Bathhouse' in 1996 after a long period of obscurity. He then rose to stardom through the sitcom 'Three Friends.'
Meanwhile, Yun Da-hun, who confessed at a 2000 press conference that he was an unmarried father, married a Korean fine-dining restaurant operator 10 years his junior in 2007 and had a second daughter.
