Actor Kang Yul has been cast in a Korea–Singapore co-produced drama.
Kang Yul was cast as the male lead in a Korea–Singapore co-produced drama produced jointly by Korean production company Outpost Entertainment (Outpost Entertainment) and Singapore content producer King Kong Media (King Kong Media).
Kang Yul was chosen as the lead actor in a project officially introduced at the Asia TV Forum & Market (Asia TV Forum & Market), the largest audiovisual industry event in Asia, and it is King Kong Media's first Korean co-production. In particular, this project has already attracted strong interest from several OTT platforms even before official filming began, drawing global market attention.
Kang Yul, who debuted in the 2017 web drama 'Seventeen', secured a wide fan base by starring in the web drama series 'When I Was Stamped by a Bully'. In addition, he demonstrated broad character versatility through numerous works such as 'The Temperature of Love', 'Queen of Mystery 2', 'Number Six', 'Muddy Love Stories', and 'Revenge of Others'.
Then in 2023, Kang Yul solidified his status as a breakout actor by earning praise from viewers with steady acting in 'Elegant Empire'. This year, in the short-form drama 'My Guy Friend Was a Chaebol', he realistically portrayed a chaebol male friend character and stirred the hearts of female viewers.
He has also shown versatile charm by displaying a diligent image and excellent cooking skills through variety programs such as 'Smiling Boss' and Stars' Top Recipe at Fun-Staurant, earning the nickname "cooking elite" and receiving great love.
Through this project, which marks his first challenge in global co-production content, Kang Yul expressed high expectations, saying, "Singapore is like a palette where diverse cultures coexist, a place with many new attempts and possibilities."
