Veteran actor the late Yun Il-bong has passed away.
The funeral service for the late Yun Il-bong will be held this morning (the 10th) at the funeral hall of Seoul National University Bundang Hospital. The burial site is Sian Park.
The late Yun Il-bong, father of ballet dancer Yun Hye-jin and father-in-law of actor Eom Tae-woong, died on the 8th. He was 91.
Born in Goesan County, North Chungcheong Province, the late Yun Il-bong debuted at age 13 in 1947 in the cultural film 'Railroad story' and began full-fledged acting activity in 1948 with the commercial film 'Blue hill'. He later married the late Yoo Eun-yi, who was actor Yoo Dong-geun's older sister, in 1951.
In 1956 he also debuted as a stage actor in the play 'Heroic outlaw Im Kkeok-jeong' and appeared in more than 100 films.
He appeared in films such as 'Barefoot youth', 'Yukjagaek', 'Home of the stars', 'Sorrow of San Francisco', 'I only love you', 'The woman I abandoned', 'The man I abandoned', 'Suddenly in the deep night', and 'A woman's trap'.
In 1967 he won the Best Supporting Actor award at the Grand Bell Awards, and 17 years later in 1984 he took home the Best Actor award at the Grand Bell Awards.
He also served as the 11th president of the Korean Film Promotion Corporation.
