On MBN's "Puzzle Trip," Kim Na-young confesses about her family background.
MBN's 30th anniversary special three-part series "Puzzle Trip" follows overseas adoptees who came to Korea to find the lost piece of their puzzle, capturing their real Korean travel stories in a reality observation travel program. The program was selected for production support in the public non-drama category of the 2025 Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA) broadcast and video content public bid. Part 1 features puzzle guide Kim Won-hee with Carrie (Lee Eun-jung), part 2 features puzzle guides Choi Soo-jong and Yang Ji-eun with Mike (Jeon Sun-hak), and part 3 features puzzle guide Kim Na-young alongside 24-year-old KT on a journey of empathy.
In the third episode airing on the 11th, Korea's representative fashionista Kim Na-young personally invites 24-year-old KT, who loves K-pop, to her home.
Kim Na-young said, "I once did foster mother volunteer work for about a week. Even though it was just a week, it was really hard to send the child away," sharing a poignant foster mother experience that resonated. In response, KT said, "There is a mother I want to meet. It's a foster mother," expressing a special desire to find a foster mother, which moved viewers.
That day, Kim Na-young introduced KT to her two sons, Shin-woo and Lee-jun, who shared dinner with her, and explained her special family story. Kim Na-young said, "KT nuna has two mothers and two fathers," then added, "My mother also has two mothers," and said, "I think having two moms and dads is really a blessing," naturally explaining various family structures and creating a warm moment.
Then Kim Na-young explained, "When I was young, my mother passed away early and my father remarried. So there are two mothers," and confessed candidly, "I resented my mother for leaving early," adding, "But in the time I spent with my mother, I was loved enough. I'm sorry for hating my mother," wiping her eyes. She said, "So having two mothers isn't wrong, it's just different, and I wanted to tell the children that," conveying a touching sentiment.
In response, Choi Soo-jong said, "She is a good mother," with a contented smile, and Yang Ji-eun also said, "I'm a mother too, but it would be hard to explain that to children like that; I really respect her," expressing admiration for Kim Na-young's warm way of explaining diverse family forms at the children's level.
