Broadcaster Shin Dong-yup and actors Chae Won-bin, Heo Nam-jun will serve as the three MCs for the "2025 SBS Drama Awards."
The "2025 SBS Drama Awards" has been confirmed to air at 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 31, and Shin Dong-yup, Chae Won-bin, and Heo Nam-jun will serve as MCs to wrap up SBS drama's year.
Called the "symbol of the SBS Drama Awards," Shin Dong-yup will take the MC role for the ninth consecutive year, raising the ceremony's stature with his witty banter and the seasoned hosting skills expected of a national MC. Interest is focused on Shin Dong-yup's performance as he breaks the new record of hosting the "SBS Drama Awards" for the ninth time and becomes an iconic figure of the awards.
Joining him as the new faces of the "SBS Drama Awards" are Chae Won-bin and Heo Nam-jun. The two were cast as leads in SBS's 2026 first-half mega IP dramas, Chae Won-bin in "Sold Out Again Today" and Heo Nam-jun in "Shinsegae," and as young figures continuing SBS's hit lineage, their participation as MCs adds further meaning. Also, since they will be sharing MC duties with Shin Dong-yup, a pleasant back-and-forth chemistry is expected to emerge.
In particular, this year's awards concept is "god SBS." Starting with "Love Scout," which opened the new year as SBS's first gold-and-saturday drama of 2025, followed by "Taxi Driver 3," which is demonstrating the strength of well-made seasonal dramas, and "Dynamite Kiss," which reached No. 1 in Netflix's non-English shows category within three weeks of broadcast, K-drama's reputation has been elevated.
With K culture exerting a more prominent global influence than in any other year, the organizers are determined to elevate the status of K-drama and demonstrate the powerful presence of the word "god."
Meanwhile, sparking curiosity about who will be this year's honored winners, the "2025 SBS Drama Awards" will air on SBS at 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 31.
