KBS2 'The Return of SUPERMAN' stars Eun-woo and Jeong-woo challenge making gochujang.
'The Return of SUPERMAN' (directed by Kim Young-min, hereafter 'The Return') has been loved by the public for 13 years since it first aired in 2013. In 2023, following Eun-woo, on the 2nd and 3rd weeks of June in the TV-OTT non-drama institutional sector grants popularity rankings, 'The Return' Jeong-woo ranked in the top 10 for two consecutive weeks, proving they are the youngest, most talked-about brothers, and in the 2nd week of August in the same sector, 'The Return' Ha-ru and Shim Hyung-tak simultaneously entered the top 10, demonstrating viewers' hot interest. To mark its 600th episode, 'The Return' teases the lovingly growing daily lives of the children, raising expectations. Today's (10th) broadcast of 'The Return' 600th episode is titled 'Your 600th growth diary' and features MC Kim Jong-min and Lalali. Kim Jun-ho, Eun-woo and Jeong-woo set out to make jang (fermented paste) as a gift for the great-grandmother.
Eun-woo, a sauce lover with a native-flavor palate who has already conquered fish soy sauce, traditional lye, and cheonggukjang, shows sincere enthusiasm for making gochujang, creating cuteness. Eun-woo devotes care from making the meju (fermented soybean brick). With nimble hands he shapes heart-shaped meju, and when Eun-woo even skillfully twists rice straw with his small hands, MC Lalali exclaims, "You made it so nicely~."
Then the Woo brothers mix salt, red pepper powder and meju powder to make gochujang. Eun-woo and Jeong-woo chant the magic spell "Make it even more delicious" and complete a richly colored gochujang. When Jeong-woo admires the freshly finished gochujang's look, saying "It's a pretty red," Eun-woo tastes the gochujang with his finger-tapping trick. Jeong-woo worries, asking, "Isn't it spicy, hyung?" But Eun-woo says, "It's not spicy," continues to taste it with a dab of gochujang, and their father Kim Jun-ho, surprised at Eun-woo awakening to the spicy taste, says, "Eun-woo could try making kimchi now."
Expectations rise for the broadcast of 'The Return,' which will show the Woo brothers Eun-woo and Jeong-woo making gochujang with their tiny hands and Eun-woo's native-flavor palate gochujang dipping antics.
