Actor Kim Gyuri revealed behind-the-scenes stories about her daring nude scenes in the film "Beauty Portrait."
On the 10th, a video featuring Kim Gyuri as a guest was released on the YouTube channel "Noppakku Tak Jae-hoon." That day Kim Gyuri said, "Kim Gyuri is my real name, and Kim Min-seon was also my name," and "there was just a time when I used it like a stage name," beginning by talking about her name.
A former magazine model, she recalled, "I was very young, a senior in high school. I was often cast at hair salons," remembering her early debut. Later, Kim Gyuri, who became known through trendy dramas such as "Glass Slippers" and "Hyun Jung-ah, I love you," left a strong impression with the 2008 film "Beauty Portrait."
That day the topic was undoubtedly the nude scenes in "Beauty Portrait." Kim Gyuri candidly described the shooting conditions at the time, saying, "I was very ambitious." She said, "There were stand-ins prepared for each part — buttocks stand-in, chest stand-in, wrist stand-in, ankle stand-in — and when you were in the waiting room with the director, the stand-in actors would come in and show those parts directly."
She continued, "I told the film company first, 'Let me try it, and if it's lacking, please use a stand-in,'" adding, "In the end, the scenes performed with my body were chosen. After some deliberation, they said, 'We can go with what Gyuri acted,' and I felt incredibly proud at that moment."
She followed with a candid, laughter-tinged confession about the bed scenes. Kim Gyuri said, "The day before, the director and the assistant director called me to the room and there was the storyboard. The assistant director plays my role and the director is above, and they organize the angles and movements and even demonstrate them directly," adding, "It was much more detailed than I thought."
