Ha Won-mi recounted an anecdote about earning money in the past by managing vending machines.
On the 10th, a video titled "It ended up like that…" was uploaded to the YouTube channel 'HaWonmi HaWonmi'.
That day, when Ha Won-mi went to the store to work as both a promotional ambassador for an jjukkumi restaurant and a part-time worker, the production team asked, "What kinds of part-time jobs have you done until now?" Ha Won-mi said, "I have never done them even once. When I was young, I earned pocket money by managing vending machines. That was when I was 20," she said.
She said she was managing vending machines even while dating Choo Shin-soo. When asked how that came about, Ha Won-mi said, "My father wouldn't let me take part-time jobs. Considering the hours, it was better to do that kind of maintenance work; in a way, isn't that a business? Do that and earn pocket money. Looking back now, I think it helped me a lot."
She added, "Because it's a 10-won business. At that time, regular coffee was 150 won and premium coffee was 200 won. So I realized that money gathered bit by bit becomes a mountain. I understood that."
The production team also asked, "How many vending machines did you manage?" She said she managed just one vending machine and "it was quite profitable. My vending machine was also in front of a bus stop. So in winter the net profit was 2 million won a month. I saved that money and went to the U.S. (to see Choo Shin-soo). I saved that money and dated my husband," she said.
She recalled their dating days, saying, "At that time he had no money. When I first met him I didn't know he had so little money. We kept dating, and at first for about a week he bought me tasty things and we went places. At some point, when we agreed to meet it would be at a PC bang or a comic cafe."
Ha Won-mi said, "Then that money ran out and he kept telling me to come home. I didn't want to date outside; I wanted to be at home. So I wondered if my feelings cooled or if he wanted something else? I thought that. It turned out he had no money for dates. I noticed first, so I paid comfortably. From then on."
To avoid hurting Choo Shin-soo's pride, Ha Won-mi sometimes deliberately put him to work. She said, "I brought my husband and we cleaned inside the vending machine, collected the money and refilled the water; we did it together when we were dating."
Having managed vending machines for as long as a year and a half, Ha Won-mi said, "When I moved to the U.S., I tossed it to the apartment security guard. Because there was net profit. But after that (when I became pregnant with my first, Mu-bin) I didn't go back."
Meanwhile, before starting the part-time job, Ha Won-mi said she was nervous and excited, saying, "This is my first time serving in 42 years. It feels like a life experience site."
