Actor Yoon Seon-woo expressed his feelings about presenting "The First Man" as his first project after marrying fellow actor Kim Ga-eun following 10 years of dating.
MBC held a production presentation for the new daily drama "The First Man" (written by Seo Hyun-joo, directed by Kang Tae-heum) on the morning of the 10th at its Sangam-dong headquarters in Mapo-gu, Seoul. The event was attended by the drama's lead actors Ham Eun-jung, Yoon Seon-woo, Oh Hyun-kyung, Park Geon-il, Kim Min-seol, Jung Chan, Lee Jae-hwang and the drama director Kang Tae-heum, who, under the moderation of announcer Seo-in, talked about "The First Man".
"The First Man" is a drama that depicts a deadly confrontation between a woman who, for revenge, lived another person's life and a woman who stole someone else's life for her own desires. Writer Seo Hyun-joo, who was loved for "Shining Romance" and "The Best Lover," presents another installment in her number series following "The Second Husband" and "The Third Marriage."
Yoon Seon-woo plays Kang Baek-ho, a lifelong singleborn lawyer, as the male lead. He recently married fellow actor and his partner Kim Ga-eun after 10 years of dating without even announcing their engagement, drawing great attention. Coincidentally, co-star Ham Eun-jung also drew attention by marrying film director Kim Byung-woo. Regarding this, Yoon Seon-woo laughed, saying, "We both got married. Honestly, I didn't really know we were getting married. But we're trying to take this as a good opportunity and create good synergy. On set, we're trying to show a good 'K-merry' by loving each other."
He also expressed gratitude about his wife Kim Ga-eun's support, saying, "Actually, we don't talk about projects separately. We each prepare on our own. But because this is a daily drama with long shooting hours and many days away from home, she tries to support me a lot at home."
He added, "Although the lifelong singleborn character and I are different, there are clumsy sides in me, so I brought those out. He's lifelong singleborn but has a cute side, and although he falters, he's a friend who can honestly express love. I tried to portray these things."
"The First Man" is scheduled to premiere at 7:05 p.m. on Monday the 15th as the successor to the currently airing "The Woman Who Swallowed the Sun."<
