KBS2 variety show 'Baedalwatsuda,' airing at 9:50 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 10, will feature the trendsetting trio of comedians Im Woo-il, Kim Won-hoon and Eom Ji-yoon. From an appearance that flustered Youngja and Sook to their wild banter, they rampage through the show and quickly fill Wednesday night with laughter.
This episode's star restaurant is a long-time delivery favorite of KBS comedians, boasting a history of 37 years. In fact, KBS public-recruit alumnus Kim Sook said she often ordered delivery there when she was a rookie.
In the car heading to the delivery location, Lee Young-ja and Kim Sook recall their own rookie days. Kim Sook recounts the legendary "100 packs of cigarettes" anecdote that circulates in the KBS comedy community, and Lee Young-ja confesses the painful moments she had to endure because of being a "special hire." In particular, Lee Young-ja becomes emotional recalling the consolation she received from the late Choi Jin-sil, who was a top star at the time. Kim Sook also shares a warm memory of the late Choi Jin-sil, adding, "She was such a good person."
Soon after, the two MCs arrive at today's delivery location. The orderers are the trendsetting trio of comedians Im Woo-il, Kim Won-hoon and Eom Ji-yoon! From their entrance, they struggle to earn recognition from senior comedians Lee Young-ja and Kim Sook. Lee Young-ja, trying to feed her juniors fresh jajangmyeon, cooks fresh noodles and stir-fries the sauce on the spot. Eom Ji-yoon, who said she couldn't even eat jajangmyeon as a rookie because there was no segment, is moved to tears and says, "This is touching," at the freshly cooked jajangmyeon.
On the other hand, the warmth is short-lived: a revelation battle among the three close friends follows. Asked whether they expected to become this successful, Im Woo-il replies, "(When we were rookies) I couldn't see either of them at all." Kim Won-hoon and Eom Ji-yoon counter, "We thought so too," adding, "Among the 26th class, we thought only senior Woo-il wouldn't make it." Kim Won-hoon even said he did not want to do today's show with Im Woo-il, prompting curiosity about what incident had occurred between the two.
Furthermore, Eom Ji-yoon exposes Im Woo-il's stingy moments. She says Im Woo-il's stinginess stories are famous among KBS comedians and reveals an anecdote where he made fried rice for juniors using leftover food, surprising those around him. Im Woo-il defended his stingy philosophy, but was knocked out by one remark from Lee Young-ja. What was the one remark from Lee Young-ja that snapped Im Woo-il to attention?
Meanwhile, an impromptu workplace skit by the trendsetting trio of comedians is also performed. Following Kim Won-hoon's trademark ad-lib "scratching," they swap senior-junior roles with Lee Young-ja and Kim Sook and perform the skit. The laughter was so intense that even the stoic MCs and the production team could not hold back, making it a historically hilarious moment. Lee Young-ja even nearly spit out her drink and gave up halfway through, adding anticipation about what scenes unfolded.
Also, over the show's signature "discount coupon," the three rank "flirting methods that 100% work on the opposite sex." From how Kim Won-hoon captivated his then-common-law wife to Im Woo-il's "leftover food flirting(?)," unpredictable flirting methods are introduced. It raises curiosity about how many points their dating sense, which captured the hearts of the MZ generation, would get.
