Comedian Cho Sae-ho, caught up in allegations of ties to organized crime, participated normally in the filming of 2 Days & 1 Night despite the controversy. The whistleblower A, who raised the allegations, announced additional revelations today (9th).
A previously claimed that Cho Sae-ho was close friends with Mr. Choi, the influential figure in the largest gang in the Geochang area and an operator of an illegal online gambling site. He alleged that Cho Sae-ho promoted Mr. Choi's franchise restaurant and, in return, received expensive gifts, presenting photos and circumstantial evidence. The released photos showed Cho Sae-ho and Mr. Choi drinking together and attending a wedding together.
In response, Cho Sae-ho's agency A2Z Entertainment drew a line, saying "Mr. Choi is merely an acquaintance, and there is no transactional relationship," and "we are preparing legal action against the spreading of false information." However, A temporarily deleted his post and then reappeared, announcing additional disclosures related to Cho Sae-ho and escalating the fallout.
Recently A said, "I thought a lot over the weekend. I am a person too, and I'm afraid of thugs," and claimed, "I did not receive a single cent. Even if there was a sponsorship offer, I never accepted it."
He went on to say, "Starting tomorrow, I will fight one by one until the truth wins," and predicted, "I have received many reports related to gambling money laundering. I will disclose them." He used a strong tone, saying, "Don't just keep suing the comedian Cho Sae-ho I like; explain it like a man."
Meanwhile, Cho Sae-ho is proceeding with his scheduled broadcast activities as planned. On the 8th, KBS 2TV's 2 Days & 1 Night told OSEN, "We carried out the scheduled filming on the 5th and 6th as planned," and "the production team is closely monitoring matters related to Mr. Cho."
Cho Sae-ho continued filming amid the controversy, and as the whistleblower announced additional tips, the situation is taking on an increasingly complex form.
