"Made In Korea" features actors Cho Yeo-jeong, Seo Eun-su and Won Ji-an.
On the 9th, Disney+ original series Made In Korea released still cuts of Bae Geum-ji (Cho Yeo-jeong), Oh Ye-jin (Seo Eun-su) and Ikeda Yuji (Won Ji-an).
Made In Korea is a work that depicts the story of Baek Gi-tae (Hyun Bin), a company man who seeks to reach the pinnacle of wealth and power by treating the state as a revenue model, and Jang Gun-young (Jung Woo-sung), a prosecutor who relentlessly tracks him to the edge, confronting the huge events that span the era in 1970s Korea, when turmoil and leap coexisted.
First, this year's films Murderer Report and My Daughter is a Zombie, Hidden Face, and previously the film Parasite, which captivated 10 million viewers. Cho Yeo-jeong, who has proven versatile charm by perfectly portraying any character, presents another new transformation through Made In Korea. Bae Geum-ji is the madam of an upscale night club frequented by people with power, a figure who secretly holds and wields the power of the state.
In the released stills, Cho Yeo-jeong captures attention with Bae Geum-ji's complex facets, from an unbowed, confident charisma before anyone to a deep expression that seems to hold untold stories. Cho Yeo-jeong said, "When a character feels 'scary,' it often means the attraction is so great that the pressure and difficulty of having to take on the role come at once. In that sense, Bae Geum-ji was so attractive that I felt fear," expressing deep affection for the character Bae Geum-ji. The new face Cho Yeo-jeong will show and the deep resonance and charm the character Bae Geum-ji will offer are expected to captivate viewers at once.
Seo Eun-su, who left a strong presence in various works including 'The Witch (魔女) Part 2. The Other One', the drama Chief Detective 1958, Unlock My Boss, Missing: The Other Side and The Golden Life, plays the investigator Oh Ye-jin, who traces the reality of a vast criminal cartel alongside Jang Gun-young. Her seemingly unyielding pursuit of the criminal organization shows the compelling energy of the character.
Eun-su said, "I thought a lot about the character because I wanted to show Oh Ye-jin's gradual desire, from an initially pure appearance to becoming colder, more detached and more fierce as she gains purpose," raising expectations for how the multi-faced character Oh Ye-jin will be portrayed. Writer Park Eun-gyo also said, "Oh Ye-jin is a character who does not settle for reality and struggles and strives to move even one step further. I hope the character, which has the healthy energy of actress Seo Eun-su, receives much love," expressing anticipation for the vivid character and piquing curiosity.
Starting with the D.P. series, Squid Game Season 2, Tempest, and most recently Surely Tomorrow, which has drawn a heated response upon release, Won Ji-an, who has established a solid presence with each work, takes on the role of Ikeda Yuji in Made In Korea. Ikeda Yuji is a senior figure in the Japanese underworld Ikeda organization and an able lobbyist who, harboring ambitions to become the organization's successor, schemes business with Baek Gi-tae. In the released stills, Won Ji-an reveals a fierce gaze that does not bow even under the scrutiny of organization elders while also showing a fragile, layered face, amplifying curiosity about what kind of narrative she holds.
Director Woo Min-ho praised, "She did not bow even in front of veteran actors and fully played her role," emphasizing Won Ji-an's flawless acting. Won Ji-an also said, "I focused on what Ikeda Yuji's desire is and interpreted each scene with that in mind," raising expectations for the unique atmosphere and depth of the character she completed. Thus, Bae Geum-ji, Oh Ye-jin and Ikeda Yuji, who faced an era when many things were forbidden for women, will enrich the drama through their desires and narratives and are expected to firmly capture viewers' hearts with their respective charms.
Made In Korea will meet viewers as a six-episode series starting with episodes 1 and 2 on the 24th.
