In Zzanbro, actors Ha Jung-woo and Gong Hyo-jin's sibling-level chemistry exploded. They showed everything from revelations about a marriage promise to sibling chemistry that made one's appendix burst(?).
On the 8th, YouTube channel Zzanbro EP.122 released an episode in which the main cast of the film The Upstairs Neighbors — Ha Jung-woo, Lee Ha-ni, Gong Hyo-jin and Kim Dong-wook — made appearances and launched an unrestrained exposé.
That day the actors spoke in unison, saying, "On set, the only person who can hold Ha Jung-woo is Gong Hyo-jin." Ha Jung-woo nodded in agreement, and Gong Hyo-jin said, "I'm not usually that kind of person, but when I see oppa I become like that. I go for oppa, not people my age or younger," proving a realistic sibling chemistry that could only come from close familiarity. Lee Ha-ni chimed in, "The only person who dares to boss Ha Jung-woo around is Gong Hyo-jin," and Gong Hyo-jin said, "I only go for Gong Yoo and Ha Jung-woo, exactly two people," adding, "When we meet and part, I always send a remorseful text saying 'I'm sorry.'"
Their bickering continued during project meetings. Gong Hyo-jin said she criticized the script as soon as she received it, and Lee Ha-ni revealed, "If Gong Hyo-jin laughs, everyone laughs. Ha Jung-woo's ad-libs don't make people laugh." Gong Hyo-jin then declared, "They're not funny. They're dad jokes," drawing laughter.
Eventually Ha Jung-woo opened up. He said, "I'll say what annoyed me about Lee Ha-ni and Gong Hyo-jin," and pointed to Gong Hyo-jin first. "She reads scripts so harshly. We talked about it on the phone for 1 hour and 20 minutes. I wished she would stop. I was going to fix it myself…" he recalled. Ha Jung-woo continued, "Gong Hyo-jin points out everything strange from 1 to 1,000," and dropped a bombshell: "After the film, my appendix burst and I even had surgery. 80% of it is Gong Hyo-jin's fault," which blew up the set.
Gong Hyo-jin shot back, "Oppa glared at me," and Ha Jung-woo revealed a choked-up story: "There were 40 guests at the set. During rehearsal, Gong Hyo-jin questioned in front of the monitor, 'How are we going to shoot this scene tomorrow?' and I experienced buffering for the first time in my life." Watching this, Kim Dong-wook laughed and said, "I've seen Ha Jung-woo for 18 years, but it's the first time I've seen him cry." Ha Jung-woo appealed, "I was scolded in front of everyone. It was enough to make my appendix burst," and Gong Hyo-jin replied, "I don't remember it at all," which made people laugh. In the end Ha Jung-woo surrendered, saying, "I can't beat Gong Hyo-jin."
Toward the end of the broadcast, a debate over gaslighting(?) even broke out. Ha Jung-woo said, "Gong Hyo-jin says, 'There's a rumor these days,' and that night she interrogates everyone about who started the rumor. She even digs around," and complained, "She keeps gaslighting. You can't do Gong-bly." Gong Hyo-jin calmly replied, "It's a warning to be careful."
Lee Ha-ni looked at the two and summarized, "These are Ha Jung-woo's favorite actors that he acknowledges. They exchange unconditional love," Ha Jung-woo and Gong Hyo-jin also said, "Even if we seem to be on bad terms, we're actually the closest," and "Ten years ago we promised that if we weren't married by 60 we'd live together," which once again had the set roaring with laughter.
In the end, Ha Jung-woo and Gong Hyo-jin were responsible for the laughter in a genuine sibling mode that even made one's appendix burst(?). Their bickering still conveys deep trust, and that chemistry is generating big laughs from viewers.
