Broadcaster Park Na-rae said she had "resolved misunderstandings and distrust" regarding conflicts with her former managers, but the former managers themselves have flatly denied this, and the controversy is spreading widely. With both sides' claims completely at odds, suspicions have even been raised that Park Na-rae's official position itself may be inconsistent with the facts.
On the 8th, Park Na-rae declared a halt to her broadcasting activities after being engulfed in various allegations such as abuse of power, embezzlement of funds and illegal medical procedures. At the time she said in an official statement, "With your help I was able to meet face to face with my former managers, and misunderstandings and distrust have been resolved," and "I think everything was my fault, and I deeply reflect on it." A representative of her agency was also reported to have said, "We have resolved the emotional issues between us," and suggested that complaints, lawsuits or property preservation orders should be withdrawn.
However, according to Channel A's report on the 9th, the position of the former managers who sued Park Na-rae was completely different. The former managers acknowledged that they had talked with Park Na-rae for about three hours in the early hours of the 8th, but said, "We did not receive an apology and no agreement was reached."
They said, "We raised the issue for more than a month but when we said we could no longer tolerate it, Park Na-rae said, 'Then let's sue,'" and claimed, "We were baffled to see 'misunderstandings have been resolved' written in the statement of position." They added, "It felt like she met us to issue a statement," and "It only appears to be an attempt to buy time to change public opinion."
Channel A requested an additional statement from Park Na-rae's agency regarding these claims by the former managers, but reportedly did not receive a separate response. As a result, suspicions have arisen that Park Na-rae's explanation of 'resolving the conflict' may be a so-called 'false statement' that differs from the facts.
Meanwhile, the controversy surrounding Park Na-rae has already entered legal procedures. Two former managers filed for property preservation with the Seoul Western District Court against Park Na-rae, claiming workplace harassment, special injury, proxy prescription, and unpaid hosting fees. They also filed a complaint accusing her of embezzlement under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Economic Crimes, alleging she privately paid company money to her ex-boyfriend.
Additionally, after a Dispatch report added allegations that Park Na-rae received illegal medical procedures from a person known as the so-called 'injection aunt,' the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul has launched an investigation into possible violations of the Medical Service Act and the Pharmaceutical Affairs Act. The police also said they have already received the complaint filed by the former managers alleging special injury and defamation by false facts. Despite Park Na-rae's declaration of activity suspension, the legal dispute and investigation now appear to have entered a full-scale phase.<
