Amid various controversies in the entertainment industry, the country's longest-running mixed-gender group KOYOTE celebrated its 27th debut anniversary.
On the 9th, Shinji extended a loving greeting to commemorate KOYOTE (Kim Jong-min, Shinji, Baekga)'s 27th anniversary through her official social media.
In the released post, Shinji, along with a photo brimming with a winter atmosphere, added the message "I sincerely thank everyone who congratulated KOYOTE and Shinji on 27 years since their debut" and celebrated with the hashtag #19981209_20251209.
Fans also sent warm congratulatory messages such as "Thank you for being together consistently for so long" and "I'm glad you seem to be enjoying the 27th anniversary," showing their unwavering support for KOYOTE.
KOYOTE debuted on Dec. 9, 1998, with "Sunjung" and produced numerous hit songs that trigger singalongs from the first bars, including "Shilyeon," "Bimong," "Paran," and "Our Dream," establishing themselves as a "national group." Among teams that represented the 1990s–2000s, KOYOTE is the only group that has continued activities steadily.
Since signing an exclusive contract with JG Star, they have tried new changes while maintaining their distinctive "dance songs that people of all ages can easily sing along to" through new songs such as "GO," "Hero," "Half," "Wind," and "Four seasons." In particular, with the new song "Call Me," they reunited after 27 years with hit composer Choi Jun-young of "Sunjung" and "Shilyeon," reached No. 1 on major music charts, and proved their enduring strength along with their experience.
Meanwhile, KOYOTE began the "2025 KOYOTE Festival nationwide tour: Heung" starting in Daegu last September and is proceeding through Seoul, Ulsan and Busan, and will culminate the tour at Changwon KBS Hall on the 27th.
