The former MBLAQ member Cheondung announced a new beginning by establishing an independent label after long deliberation.
On the 9th Cheondung posted a long message he wrote on his social media saying, "It's late, but today I announce my new start."
He opened by saying, "I debuted with MBLAQ and have taken on many challenges such as group activities, solo work and acting, and 16 years have already passed since then."
Cheondung candidly revealed the burdens and identity struggles from his idol days. He confessed, "I feel like the me inside the name 'idol' was a 'me that wasn't me,' so I spent a long time trying to shed that image," and "Putting aside success and numbers, I kept writing and releasing songs and have been on a journey to find myself."
The conclusion of that journey was independence. Cheondung said, "In June of this year I established 'MOOVE LABEL (MOOVE Label),' which fully reflects my thoughts," and added, "Now I plan to hustle properly with my real music rather than a fabricated image. Please watch my future moves."
His wife Mimi left a supportive comment on the post saying, "Cheondung fighting, Moove Label fighting," offering steadfast support.
Meanwhile, Cheondung debuted with MBLAQ in 2009 and has continued activities as a singer and actor, and last May he married Mimi, formerly of the girl group Gugudan. He is also well known as the younger brother of Sandara Park of 2NE1.
