Actor Park Si-hoo, who stirred controversy over allegations that he arranged an affair that led to a family's breakup, is returning to the big screen.
At the production briefing for the film "God's Band" held at CGV Yongsan I'Park Mall on the 8th, Park Si-hoo said, "I missed the movie set," adding, "It's a heartwarming film."
Director Kim Hyung-hyeop's "God's Band" tells the story of North Korea, where international aid has been blocked by sanctions, creating a fake praise troupe to earn foreign currency. Park Si-hoo plays Park Gyo-soon, a North Korean State Security Department major who organizes the fake troupe.
Park Si-hoo said, "The process of Gyo-soon, who is cold and charismatic, changing as he interacts with the band members was very appealing," adding, "I really enjoyed reading the script and was drawn to the power of the work."
Park Si-hoo also addressed the allegation that he facilitated an affair and was involved in the breakup of a family, again saying it was groundless.
Earlier in Aug., an influencer claimed on social media (SNS) that Park Si-hoo was responsible for the breakup of the influencer's family, and Park's side countered that the claim was false.
He said, "It's been 15 years since I last did a film production briefing, and I have mixed feelings about mentioning my personal matters here," adding, "I feel sorry toward the director and the actors."
He added, "We are proceeding with legal steps regarding the clearly false claims. We will leave it to the judgment of the law."
