Actor Lee Byung-hun was nominated for best actor at the 83rd Golden Globe Awards to be held next year.
On the 8th (local time) at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles, California, nominees for the 83rd Golden Globe Awards were announced.
Attention focused on whether director Park Chan-wook's new film "No Other Choice" could be nominated, and it was nominated in three categories: best motion picture — comedy or musical, best foreign language film, and best actor in a comedy or musical (Lee Byung-hun).
In particular, Lee Byung-hun was nominated alongside global top stars Leonardo DiCaprio (One Battle After Another), Timothée Chalamet (Marty Supreme), George Clooney (Jay Kelly), Ethan Hawke (Blue Moon), and Jesse Plemons (Bugonia), and will compete for the trophy.
In the film, Lee Byung-hun gives a passionate performance as a family man who, after suddenly being fired from his company, prepares his own war for reemployment to protect his wife and two children and to keep the hard‑earned house. He reunited with them 21 years after Three, Monsters, attracting attention from the casting stage, and the film drew 3 million viewers domestically.
The Golden Globes, called a preview of the Academy Awards, is regarded as a ceremony representing Hollywood with powerful influence. It will be held on Jan. 11 next year.
