Veteran actor Yoon Il-bong, the father of ballet dancer Yoon Hye-jin and the father-in-law of actor Uhm Tae-woong, has died.
According to broadcasting officials on the 8th, Yoon Il-bong passed away that day. He was 91 years old.
Born in Goesan County, North Chungcheong Province, the late Yoon Il-bong debuted in the cultural film 'The Railroad Story' in 1947 at age 13, and began his full-fledged acting career with the 1948 commercial film 'Blue Hill'. In 1951 he married the late Yoo Eun-yi, the older sister of actor Yoo Dong-geun, and they had three children. Among the three children, ballet dancer Yoon Hye-jin married Uhm Tae-woong.
In 1956 he also debuted as a stage actor in the play 'Heroic Outlaw Im Kkeok-jeong', and appeared in about 100 films.
In particular, the late Yoon Il-bong, with a height close to 180 cm and a warm appearance, was active as the leading man in romance films in the 1970s and 1980s.
He appeared in films such as 'Barefoot Youth', 'Yukjagaek', 'Hometown of the Stars', 'Melancholy of San Francisco', 'I Only Love You', 'The Woman I Abandoned', 'The Man I Abandoned', 'Suddenly in the Deep Night', and 'A Woman's Trap'.
In 1967 he won the best supporting actor award at the Grand Bell Awards, and 17 years later, in 1984, he won the best actor award at the Grand Bell Awards.
He also served as the 11th president of the Korean Film Promotion Corporation.
Meanwhile, the funeral wake was set up at Seoul National University Bundang Hospital, and the funeral will be held on the 10th.
