IVE member Lee Seo graduated as the host of Inkigayo.
Lee Seo of IVE concluded her 1 year and 7 month journey as the SBS music show Inkigayo host with the Dec. 7 broadcast.
On the day, Lee appeared in a Santa girl concept ahead of Christmas, introduced K-pop stages with adorable reactions, and at the end of the broadcast delivered her final farewell to viewers, announcing her graduation as host.
After first attempting to be a music show host through Inkigayo in April last year, Lee earned great love from viewers by brightening Sunday afternoons with her sense of humor and sensible hosting. Along with perfectly pulling off the various concept outfits and skit acting given each week, Lee demonstrated fantastic chemistry and proved her all-around charm.
Lee Seo's 1 year and 7 months as host was, truly, growth itself. She perfectly learned and performed the point choreography of comeback artists, fully showcasing her solid performance skills, which led to the nickname "K-pop challenge vending machine." Also, as the store owner in Inkigayo's spinoff web variety show Inkigayo: After the show snacks, she maintained lively back-and-forth banter with juniors and seniors alike through witty remarks, proving her qualities as an all-around entertainer.
After her final Inkigayo broadcast, Lee expressed through her agency Starship Entertainment, "First, I sincerely thank DIVE (the official fan club name) and Inkigayo viewers who loved MC Lee," and added, "One of my long-held dreams was to try being a music show host, and I was really happy to achieve that dream on Inkigayo."
She added, "Having gained valuable experiences and grown a lot through Inkigayo, I hope you will watch how Lee of IVE continues to grow. I want to once again express my gratitude to those who loved MC Lee."
IVE, which Lee is part of, captured the public's heart this year with various musical attempts, starting with the pre-release track "Rebel Heart" from mini album 3, the title track "Attitude," and the mini 4 title track "XOXZ," released in August. In particular, through mini album 3 IVE EMPATHY, IVE maintained self-assurance while expanding the perspective from "me" to "we," resonating with listeners worldwide.
IVE successfully opened the curtain on their second world tour Show What I Am at KSPO DOME from Oct. 31 to Nov. 2, and recently announced the confirmed holding of the world tour at Japan's Kyocera Dome Osaka, continuing active global activities.
As Lee concludes her journey as the SBS Inkigayo host, she will continue broader activities as a member of IVE at year-end.
