Comedian Park Narae announced she would suspend activities amid continued controversy after reports that she received medical procedures from a person nicknamed "injection auntie," which began with allegations of manager mistreatment. However, the new statement made no mention of the "injection auntie," only increasing suspicions.
Park Narae released a statement on her personal social media on the 8th saying she would suspend activities. This came four days after allegations of manager mistreatment and the injection auntie controversy surfaced.
On the day, she said, "In early November two managers who were like family suddenly resigned, and until recently I was not given the opportunity to speak with the parties involved, so misunderstandings built up between us." Park Narae added, "With your help, I was able to meet face-to-face with the former manager only yesterday, and we were able to resolve misunderstandings and distrust between us, but I still think everything is my fault and I am deeply reflecting on it."
Park Narae said, "As a comedian whose job is to give laughter and enjoyment, I decided to suspend broadcasting activities until everything is neatly resolved because I cannot continue to be a burden to programs and colleagues. I bow my head once again and deeply apologize to everyone who believed in and supported me," saying she would leave all broadcasts.
Accordingly, I Live Alone, Save Me! Homes and Amazing Saturday announced Park Narae's departure and said they will edit her out of upcoming broadcasts as much as possible. In addition, the new variety shows I27m excited too and Narae-style that were scheduled to be released next week were completely canceled.
She said she had resolved misunderstandings with the manager and would leave all broadcasts, but Park Narae's statement omitted the current biggest headache, the "injection auntie" controversy.
Earlier, it was revealed that Park Narae had been reported to prosecutors on charges including violations of the Medical Service Act for receiving proxy prescriptions and psychotropic drugs from the so-called "injection auntie," and violations of the Popular Culture and Arts Industry Development Act for not registering a one-person agency, shocking the public. Regarding this, Park Narae's agency, Anpark, told OSEN, "Park Narae only received nutrient injections from someone with a medical license," denying allegations of illegal medical procedures.
Also, A, who is known as the injection auntie, claimed on her own social media, "About 12 to 13 years ago I studied hard while going back and forth to Inner Mongolia, and at the Inner Mongolia Pugang Medical University Hospital I served as the youngest Professor Choi even for foreign and domestic patients," she claimed. She also threw out sharp lines such as, "Manager, do you know my life? What do you know about me, are you making me gossip?" However, she did not specify whether she has a license to practice medicine domestically.
On the 7th, one of the medical groups, the Association of Doctors Wishing for a Fair Society (Gonguimo), issued a statement saying, "The Pugang medical school that A claimed to have attended is a ghost medical school. As confirmed by Gonguimo, the medical college called Pugang Medical University that A claimed to have attended did not exist."
Moreover, on the 8th the Korean Medical Association Organization checked its internal database at the association level and found that A is not a domestic medical license holder. The association plans to officially ask the Ministry of Health and Welfare whether A holds a domestic medical license.
Could it be possible that A holds a domestic medical license but is not a member of the association? A Korean Medical Association Organization official told OSEN, "All doctors are members of the association. There is no possibility that someone with a domestic medical license would not be in the association's database," flatly denying that possibility.
Park Narae's "injection auntie" controversy does not appear to end here. On the 8th, SBS's Curious Story Y said on its official account, "We are awaiting tips about the so-called 'injection auntie' A, who is suspected of giving Park Narae an intravenous drip," and said it is conducting reporting.
With Park Narae stating her position only on the manager mistreatment allegations while remaining silent on the injection auntie controversy, attention is focused on whether she will directly give an additional position on the alleged illegal procedures.
