VVUP (Kim, Paen, Suyeon, Jiyun) rose to No. 1 on the hot stage of SBS' Inkigayo broadcast on the 7th with the title track "Super Model" from their first mini album VVON.
The hot stage rankings are decided through the global K-pop fandom platform Hiier. With 100% fan voting, the final single team that delivers the most impressive performance is selected, and VVUP confidently took first place among top-tier K-pop groups, cementing their presence as a "global rookie."
In particular, even after activities for the first mini album VVON had ended, VVUP once again gauged their growth at home and abroad by lifting the hot stage No. 1 trophy.
Through their agency, VVUP expressed gratitude, saying, "We sincerely thank all the fans who worked hard to help us receive this meaningful trophy. Like the song title 'Super Model,' we will strive to soar higher and become a more radiant group."
VVUP's first mini album VVON is a title born from the combination of the three words "VIVID," "VISION" and "ON," meaning "the moment the light turns on." Pronounced, it connects to "Born," and in spelling it links to "Won," allowing VVUP to newly portray a narrative of being born, awakening and overcoming.
Accordingly, VVON showed a remarkable rise by entering No. 1 on Indonesia and Thailand iTunes R&B/soul charts shortly after release, and ranking high on Apple Music K-pop charts in Brazil and Portugal. Furthermore, VVUP even lined up their past releases on Mexico's iTunes K-pop chart.
The music video for the title track "Super Model," which trendily interprets Korean elements, has also surpassed 13 million views at a rapid pace and remains popular. Attention is focused on VVUP's fierce momentum as they solidify their influence by standing out in overseas music markets beyond Korea with each comeback.
