Writer and broadcaster Kian84's past remark to Park Narae that "there are many sa-jja (frauds) around" is drawing renewed attention. Recently the situation entered a new phase after the person known as Park Narae's 'injection aunt' deleted their SNS account entirely following criticism from a medical association.
The person known as Park Narae's 'injection aunt,' A, recently deleted all the posts that had been on their SNS account. Earlier, they had posted a photo wearing a doctor's gown along with an online profile that appeared to be written in Chinese, and several posts claiming that they were a medical professional.
A claimed, "12 to 13 years ago I served as a professor at Inner Mongolia Pokang Medical University Hospital, the first foreign and domestic person to do so. With the help of the hospital director I attracted the Korea plastic surgery center and served as its director." They also expressed grievance, saying, "I gave up everything because of COVID-19. I went through hard times, so don't make me a gossip item."
On their SNS profile they listed things such as "director of the Korea plastic surgery center at Inner Mongolia Pokang Medical University Hospital (specially appointed professor), CEO of S&AH Medi Group, operator of Lioracell hospital-exclusive cosmetics," emphasizing that they were a medical professional related to plastic surgery.
However, on the 7th the doctors' group 'Doctors hoping for a fair society (GONGEUMO)' issued an official statement saying, "The 'Inner Mongolia Pokang Medical University' mentioned by A is a phantom medical school that does not exist."
GONGEUMO said, "After checking China's official medical school accreditation materials, there is no school called 'Pokang Medical University' in the Inner Mongolia region," and pointed out, "Even if A actually graduated from a Chinese medical school, practicing medicine in Korea would be illegal."
They added, "Graduates of Chinese medical schools are not eligible to take the Korean medical licensing examination. Therefore, if someone with only a Chinese medical license performed procedures or injections in Korea, that would be clearly illegal medical practice."
As the controversy grew, A deleted all SNS posts and switched their account to private. This has dealt a virtually decisive blow to suspicions about the 'injection aunt's' medical qualifications.
In this context, Kian84's past remarks are again being circulated. In the YouTube content 'Narae-sik' released on Aug., when Park Narae said, "Kian84 oppa and Si-eon oppa worry about me," Kian84 bluntly replied, "You introduce people too often. They may be good people, but I have a sense about these things. I smell sa-jja."
He added, "I may have been mistaken, but there are too many of those people (people like con artists) around you," and Park Narae acknowledged, "There actually were such people."
Kian84 also mentioned Park Narae's ex-boyfriend, saying, "His looks were so good it made me suspicious. I wondered if he was after her money. He was 190 cm and looked like a model," he confessed. The remark was laughed off at the time, but amid the recent controversy reactions have continued saying, "Wasn't that a prescient remark?"
Currently Park Narae is having a hard time as suspicions of illegal medical practice have piled on top of disputes with former managers. The former managers alleged, "Park Narae provided money to her ex-boyfriend," accusing her of embezzlement, while Park Narae's side strongly denied, "That is completely untrue."
However, coupled with the 'injection aunt' controversy, renewed attention to Kian84's past remark that "there are many sa-jja" means the embers of suspicion surrounding Park Narae are not easily dying out.
