Controversy has entered a new phase over the identity of the so-called "injection aunt," the key figure accused in comedian Park Narae's alleged proxy prescriptions and illegal medical practices. This is because some medical groups directly refuted the educational background and career claimed by the person and raised suspicions that she graduated from a "nonexistent ghost medical school."
Meeting of doctors for a fair society (abbreviated as Gonguimo) issued a statement on its official blog on the 7th titled "The alleged 'injection aunt' linked to Park Narae came from Pogang Medical School, which in reality is a ghost medical school." In the statement, Gonguimo said, "A, known as Park Narae's 'injection aunt,' denied illegal medical practices and claimed on social media that she 'served as a professor at Inner Mongolia Pogang Medical University Hospital,' but upon verification there is no medical school called 'Pogang Medical University.'"
According to Gonguimo, the number of medical schools in China varies between 162 and 171 depending on counting methods, but "Inner Mongolia Pogang Medical University" is not listed in either China's official medical school accreditation body "National Clinical Medical Professional Universities" or the World Directory of Medical Schools.
The group said, "Official records list only four medical schools in Inner Mongolia: ① Inner Mongolia Medical University ② School of Medicine, Inner Mongolia Minzu University ③ Chifeng Medical College (Chifeng Medical University) ④ Baotou Medical College (Baotou Medical University)," adding, "Pogang Medical School, which A claimed to have served as a professor, cannot be confirmed on any related list."
Gonguimo particularly noted, "Even if A graduated from a Chinese medical school, practicing medicine in Korea would be clearly illegal." They said, "Graduates of Chinese medical schools are not eligible to take the Korean national medical licensing exam," and "Even if they hold a Chinese medical license, domestic medical practice is impossible. It is fundamentally impossible for graduates of Chinese medical schools to obtain a Korean medical license." They added that "although someone who is not a doctor can use the title 'medical school professor,' separate verification of medical practitioner status must be strict" and called for thorough investigation.
Earlier, on the 3rd Park Narae was faced with an application for provisional seizure of property at the Seoul Western District Court by former managers. The former managers claimed they suffered so-called "power harassment" during their employment, including verbal abuse and special injury, proxy prescriptions, unpaid activity fees, and being made to wait on personal errands constantly, and said they filed charges for violations of the Medical Service Act and violations of the Popular Culture and Arts Industry Development Act for failing to register a one-person agency.
Park Narae's side explained, "One of the former managers handled the one-person agency registration and falsely reported that the registration was completed." They also denied the accusations, saying the former managers who left the company received their severance pay normally and then demanded an additional amount equal to 10% of the company's sales; after that demand was rejected, the managers continued pressure with claims that were not true, and the company has taken legal action.
Regarding the allegations of illegal medical practices, Park Narae's side denied illegality, saying, "Medical care was received in the form of a house call from a medical professional who holds a medical license." However, with the medical groups' allegation of a "ghost medical school," that claim has also become subject to further verification.
Meanwhile, Park Narae's side announced it would release an additional statement on the 8th. On the night of the 7th, a representative for Park Narae told OSEN, "We are currently drafting an additional statement and will release it tomorrow," adding, "At the same time, it is highly likely that the scheduled 'I Live Alone' filming will proceed without change."
Amid the controversy, Park Narae has continued activities by appearing without edits on existing programs such as MBC's 'Save Me! Homes', 'I Live Alone', and tvN's 'Amazing Saturday'. However, because the 'I Live Alone' VCR studio recording scheduled for the 8th is the first filming after the controversy, attention is focused on whether she will attend in person.
As the identity of the 'injection aunt,' her status as a medical professional, and the legal battle with former managers become entangled, the dispute over the truth shows signs of prolonged conflict. Attention is on whether the additional statement Park Narae is preparing will become a turning point in the controversy.
