Comedian Park Narae, after announcing a pause in activities amid controversy with her former managers, caused Big Bang's Daesung to lose the first YouTube promotion opportunity for his trot single "Hando Choga" he challenged after 16 years.
On the 8th, OSEN exclusively reported that the release schedule for Park Narae's YouTube content "Narae-sik," which featured Daesung as a guest, was completely canceled and production was halted.
"Narae-sik" was a YouTube program in which Park Narae showcased stories with guests through her distinctive cooking skills, wit and hosting. From the title to the hosting to the food, it was a program carried out under Park Narae's name and face. Park Narae left her former agency and formed a one-person agency with her mother as the representative, and the self-produced content she enthusiastically presented had attracted attention.
Meanwhile, Daesung chose "Narae-sik" as the first YouTube promotion for his solo trot single "Hando Choga." Its release had been scheduled for the 10th, and Daesung's appearance had been announced through previous "Narae-sik" videos and official social media. In fact, Daesung and Park Narae had already completed filming of "Narae-sik."
However, today (the 8th) morning, as Park Narae suspended all activities due to a dispute with her former managers, production of "Narae-sik" was also halted. Accordingly, with the release only two days away, the episode of "Narae-sik" featuring Daesung was also completely canceled. Because the single's promotion period is set, simply postponing the release would render the episode meaningless, and it was decided that only some episodes of "Narae-sik" could not be exceptionally released amid Park Narae's pause in activities.
In fact, Park Narae stepped down from MBC's Home for Me (original title: 구해줘! 홈즈), I Live Alone and tvN's Amazing Saturday, where she had been a regular. The new MBC variety show Na Do Sin Na, in which she would appear with close comedian friends, also had its premiere canceled a month before the first broadcast and production halted. Previously filmed segments are also not being released.
However, "Hando Choga" is Daesung's trot single presented after a full 16 years since his past songs "Nal bwa gwisun" and "Daebakiya." Producers Cush and Big Bang's G-Dragon participated in the song's production, adding greater significance. The unintended failure of the single's first promotional move is disappointing. Meanwhile, Daesung's side will appear on KBS 1TV's Morning Yard, which airs on the 9th, and will target middle-aged and older listeners who are the main audience for trot to step up promotion of the single.
