As allegations of illegal medical practices involving broadcaster Park Na-rae continue, the person dubbed the so-called "injection aunt" at the center of the controversy directly posted a statement on social media, flatly denying the former managers' claims. Past remarks by Kian84 have also come back into focus, and online reactions saying "seeing it now gives me goosebumps" are spreading.
The person posted a long statement on their social media on the 7th along with a photo wearing a doctor's gown. They claimed, "I studied hard while going back and forth to Inner Mongolia for more than 12 years, and I served as the youngest professor at a local university hospital among both domestic and foreign nationals." They added, "On that basis I attracted a Korean plastic surgery center and, as the head of the center, I have done broadcast interviews and lectures to promote Korea," and appealed, "On what basis are you making me gossip?"
This rebuttal came shortly after allegations of illegal medical practices by Park Na-rae were reignited. Earlier on the 6th, Park Na-rae's agency, Anpark Co., Ltd., told OSEN, "She only received vitamin injections from medical staff with a physician's license," denying the allegations of illegal medical practices.
The controversy widened after a Dispatch report. The report included photos and messages suggesting that Park Na-rae received an intravenous drip at a private home rather than a medical facility and that antidepressants were prescribed on her behalf. Dispatch raised the possibility that the so-called "injection aunt" might not be a doctor and suggested that medical practices as a whole may have been illegal.
Regarding this, Lee Se-jung, a lawyer at law firm Lee & Ko, who is Park Na-rae's legal representative, said, "There is nothing legally problematic about the medical care Ms. Park received," and explained, "Because of a busy filming schedule making it difficult to visit the hospital, she requested a house call from the doctor and nurse at the clinic she normally attends and received an intravenous drip." He said this is a legitimate medical service used by ordinary patients.
As the battle over the truth continues, past remarks expressing concern about Park Na-rae have been reexamined, increasing public interest. Recently, online communities and social media have revisited remarks by Kian84 when he appeared on the YouTube channel "Narae Sik" in August.
During that broadcast, when Park Na-rae said, "Si-eon oppa and Kian84 oppa worry about me," Kian84 replied, "You introduce people often. Of course some are good, but I have a hunch. There's a slight con artist vibe," drawing laughter. He added, "I may have been wrong, but there are too many of those kinds of people around (Park Na-rae)," and Park Na-rae also acknowledged, "Those kinds of people did exist."
Kian84 mentioned Park Na-rae's ex-boyfriend, saying, "His looks were so good that I was suspicious from the start. I wondered if he was after her money," and added, "He was tall and looked like a model, so even more so," comments that at the time passed as jokes. But as the current situation unfolds, those remarks are being brought up again.
Coincidentally, recently Park Na-rae's former managers alleged embezzlement, claiming money was paid to the ex-boyfriend, and Park Na-rae's side strongly denied it as "completely unfounded." However, as a series of circumstances overlap, online comments such as "looking back now, their words are all meaningful," "this wasn't something to laugh off," and "seeing it reexamined later gives me goosebumps" have followed.
Meanwhile, Park Na-rae is facing simultaneous allegations from former managers including abuse of power, assault, illegal medical practices and embezzlement. Her agency has sued the former managers on charges of extortion, saying, "False claims escalated monetary demands to hundreds of millions of won."
