Veteran actor Yoon Il-bong died today (the 8th), leaving the public.
According to broadcasting officials on the 8th, the late actor Yoon Il-bong passed away at the age of 91 on that day.
The late Yoon Il-bong began acting in his teens and was a veteran actor with nearly an 80-year career, and to the public he was known as the father-in-law of actor Eom Tae-woong and the father of former famous ballerina Yoon Hye-jin.
Also, the late Yoon Eun-yi, Yoon Il-bong's wife and Yoon Hye-jin's mother, was the biological older sister of actor Yoo Dong-geun. Yoo Dong-geun and Jeon In-hwa are widely known as a representative acting couple in the entertainment industry, and news was reported last October that Yoon Hye-jin suffered the loss of her mother when Yoon Eun-yi died at the age of 72. As a result, Eom Tae-woong experienced the loss of his father-in-law one year after holding his mother-in-law's funeral, and Yoon Hye-jin was left in deep grief after losing both parents within just one year.
Earlier, Yoon Hye-jin married Eom Tae-woong, the younger brother of Uhm Jung-hwa, in 2013 and the same year welcomed daughter Ji-on, and Yoon Il-bong cherished his son-in-law Eom Tae-woong like a son during his lifetime. When Eom Tae-woong appeared with his daughter Ji-on on KBS2's The Return of SUPERMAN, Yoon Il-bong also appeared, showing warm family affection.
Instead of calling him father-in-law, Eom Tae-woong called him 'father' and said, "It felt like I had a father. It was good at first and it is good now, and he treated me like a son." Yoon Hye-jin also said proudly, "There was no one to call 'father,' but when I say 'father,' he calls 'Taewoong,' and it feels really nice."
The late's wake has been set up at Bundang Seoul National University Hospital, and the funeral procession will be on the 10th.
Meanwhile, the late Yoon Il-bong was born in Goesan County, Chungbuk, and debuted in 1947 at age 13 through the cultural film 'A story of the railroad,' and in 1948 he began full-fledged acting activities with the commercial film 'Green Hill.' He later married the late Yoon Eun-yi, the elder sister of actor Yoo Dong-geun, in 1951 and had three children. Among the three children, ballerina Yoon Hye-jin married Eom Tae-woong.
In 1956 he debuted as a stage actor in the play 'Heroic outlaw Im Kkeok-jeong,' and he appeared in about 100 films. Major film credits include Barefoot Youth, Yukjagaek, Home of the Stars, Sorrow of San Francisco, I love only you, The woman I abandoned, The man I abandoned, Suddenly in the deep night, and A woman's trap.
In particular, the late Yoon Il-bong, with a height close to 180 cm and a warm appearance, was active as the leading man in romance films in the 1970s and 1980s. He won the Best Supporting Actor award at the Daejong Film Awards in 1967, and 17 years later in 1984 he won the Best Actor award at the Daejong Film Awards. He also served as the 11th president of the Korean Film Promotion Corporation.
