Coupang Play variety show 'Elite League' season 3 unveiled its main poster and trailer, announcing the curtain-raiser for a dopamine-inducing brain showdown.
Coupang Play variety show 'Elite League' season 3 is a high-purity brainical survival contest to determine brain geniuses, with the title of Korea's top medical and science and engineering universities at stake.
The released main poster, along with the phrase "a brainical survival of real geniuses," intuitively captured the core theme of the returning season 3 with the copy 'Elite League: medical vs. science and engineering.' The contrast of black for "science and engineering" and white for "medical" visually amplifies the tense competitive structure between the two fields, and the 24 participants staring straight ahead with confident, resolute expressions and imposing postures deliver a breath-taking sense of tension. In particular, this season completes an even more intriguing setup of intra-school pride competition by having Seoul National University, the winner in seasons 1 and 2, participate divided into medical and science and engineering teams, going beyond the existing elite university ranking rivalry.
In the released main trailer, the appearance of Jung Hyun-bin (Seoul National University, premedical), who made even participants feel a wall in season 1 as the "human semiconductor," and Kim Kyu-min (Seoul National University, mathematical sciences), who delivered the memorable line "I have no confidence" and showed unimaginably brilliant play in season 2, captures attention as the legendary specs of medical and science and engineering geniuses are revealed. First, the medical team features contestants for whom being number one is the default, including "a perfect scorer on the 2025 college scholastic ability test," "first in the entire school at Seoul Science High School," and "first in the entire school at Foreign Language High School for three years straight," leading to confidence in a medical victory.
Facing them, the science and engineering team also gathered Korea's top brain geniuses with exceptional beginnings. Contestants boasting specs that overwhelm the medical participants appear, including "the highest number of papers published among all high schools nationwide," "gold medalist at the International Astronomy and Astrophysics Olympiad," "priority admitted to Seoul Science High School and top 0.6% in chess," and "KAIST president's scholarship recipient and runner-up in an international chess competition." Notably, this season has as many as three "International Physics Olympiad gold medalists," raising expectations for the birth of true geniuses, the "second Jung Hyun-bin and Kim Kyu-min."
According to the contestants' dazzling credentials, the games in season 3 are also expected to be upgraded beyond previous seasons to a high specification that will showcase the pinnacle of brain survival. The participants' real reactions enjoying the game, such as "it's neck and neck, neck and neck" and "ah, the dopamine is flowing," are vertically raising anticipation for season 3.
Beyond a ranking battle of top universities, 'Elite League' season 3, which will deliver a thrilling pleasure to viewers through a brain showdown between the medical and science and engineering fields, will be released exclusively on Coupang Play at 8 p.m. on the 12th, and anyone can watch for free even if they are not a Coupang WOW member. All episodes of seasons 1 and 2 are also available on Coupang Play.
