Baek Ji-young worried about menopause.
Recently, on the YouTube channel 'Baek Ji Young', a video titled Baek Ji-young's first-ever attempt at making kimchi for kimjang: the shocking taste (husband's review) was posted.
That day Baek Ji-young decided to make kimjang kimchi herself for her husband, Jeong Seok-won, who is on a diet. When Jeong Seok-won said "If there's no kimchi, I can't eat anything," Baek Ji-young said, "I've never done this. I've never done it alone. I don't know the ratios or anything" and said it was her first attempt.
At Jeong Seok-won's request to make "master kimchi," Baek Ji-young was asked, "Have you tried kimchi in North Korea?" and replied, "North Korea's is bland. The south seems saltier."
While Jeong Seok-won prepared the glutinous rice paste, Baek Ji-young made the seasoning to mix into the napa cabbage using her own recipe. She pureed one apple and two kiwis into the minced garlic, grated half an onion and sliced the other half.
Meanwhile, Jeong Seok-won recalled that he thought Baek Ji-young was going through menopause, saying, "She seemed to have symptoms like menopause. She would get angry over trivial things, and since her shoulder hurt then, isn't shoulder pain one of the symptoms of menopause?"
Baek Ji-young said, "Among Haim's friends' mothers there is a mother two years older than me. She told me there's a menopause kit," and Jeong Seok-won laughed and said, "We did that test and it wasn't (menopause). It came back negative. She immediately came back and said, 'Honey,' like that."
