Comedian Park Narae announced a hiatus from activities even as she settled disputes with her former managers, and the already filmed Naraesik featuring Big Bang Daesung was also canceled from release.
On the 8th, OSEN reported that the YouTube content Naraesik, which Park Narae had been running under her name, will have its already filmed episodes canceled from release. Accordingly, the Daesung episode of Naraesik that was scheduled to be released on the 10th also reversed its previously released preview and will not be released.
On the 3rd, Park Narae was embroiled in controversy when her former managers filed an application for provisional seizure of real estate at the Seoul Western District Court. The former managers claimed they suffered so-called "gapjil" abuses while working at Park Narae's one-person agency, including verbal abuse, special injury, proxy prescriptions, nonpayment of hosting fees, and being made to stand by for personal errands. In addition, it was revealed that Park Narae was accused of receiving proxy prescriptions and psychotropic drugs from a person known as the "injection aunt"—constituting violations of the Medical Service Act—and of violating the Popular Culture and Arts Industry Development Act for not registering her one-person agency, which shocked the public.
In response, Park Narae's side rebutted in a first statement on the 5th that two employees who had worked for about one year and three months demanded an additional 10% of the company's revenue after leaving despite receiving proper severance pay, and after refusing this demand, they continued to exert unnecessary misunderstandings and pressure with claims that were not true, so they decided to take legal action. Regarding the allegations of receiving illegal medical treatment, they also claimed that the medical professional known as the "injection aunt" had come for a house call.
On the morning of the 8th, Park Narae posted on her personal SNS, "In early November, the two managers who had been like family suddenly resigned, and until recently we were not given opportunities to talk with the parties involved, so misunderstandings accumulated," and she announced, "With the help of many people, I was able to meet the former managers only yesterday, and while we were able to resolve the misunderstandings and distrust between us, I still believe everything is my fault and I am deeply reflecting."
She also said, "As a comedian whose job is to bring laughter and joy, I have decided to suspend broadcasting activities until everything is neatly resolved because I thought I could no longer be a nuisance to programs and colleagues," saying she will step down from all broadcasts.
As a result, the newly scheduled release of Naraesik could not escape cancellation. Naraesik, in which Park Narae personally prepares food and talks with guests and which was inspired by "Naraeba," could not avoid being completely canceled.
