'Gukhan84' Kian84 faced extremes during a trail marathon.
On the 7th broadcast of MBC entertainment show "Gukhan84," continuing from last week, Kian84, who embarked on his first trail marathon in his life, was shown exhausted in the "hell section" that continues with downhill·sand·uphill.
That day, after the uphill, Kian84 faced a steep slope and, while jumping, gained acceleration and went down at an incredible speed. About this he said, "My body is heavy so I can't stop. I move like one of those inflatable dolls in front of a store," and "The slope is so steep that my body is uncontrollable and I'm dragged down like a car with broken brakes."
After the steep downhill he reached flat ground, but Kian84 was already drained of energy. He lamented, "Wow, I want to stop on the downhill but because my body has built up momentum I can't stop. I'll walk a bit. I guess that's why they tell you to control your pace."
Feeling his body unlike usual, Kian84 was flustered, saying, "Why is this happening? I'm going crazy. The half (20km) is when you start to falter," and confessed, "I thought I could still run to the half, but the downhill ended. It's flat. From then on it's been like this. I couldn't run; my energy was already wiped out on the downhill so I couldn't move."
In particular, Kian84 revealed fear about muscles that had already loosened, saying, "There is pain that comes at 30km. It's coming. I'm afraid to run again."
Squeezing out strength to start running again, Kian84 encountered a sandy course. Repeating running and walking, he finally sat down, and burst a nervous laugh, saying, "It's a completely different world. It's a totally different exercise from marathon."
Also, Kian84 said, "I kept asking myself questions. Should I stop running? Hwaun will finish it, right? Anyway, now even walking has become painful. My jaws are starting to clench gradually."
After running on sand for about an hour, he collapsed on the sand. Kian84 said, "This is just pure pain. Am I going to die?" and when asked if Lee Eunji was bitten by a venomous snake and told to get up he worried, "Even if I get bitten it wouldn't be so bad, I thought, honestly."
Kian84 said, "It's the first time I've sat down before the half point, but if this is a strategy, maybe it's a personal strategy," and charged up like a rapidly charging phone, then set off again after a short rest. Then, upon meeting a river, Kian84 gulped it down and could not hide his joy, saying, "It was so refreshing and the water tasted good."
