Kim Min-jong said about the uproar five years ago over his appearance in a container, "Actually, I practically lived there for a time and still come and go," and "It's true that I lived in the container... because the mothers who are older saw the show with impact, they kept thinking I continued living there," he said, referring to the misunderstanding.
Meanwhile, Kim Min-jong recently appeared on KBS1's Morning Yard Tuesday invitation seat and shared a bittersweet episode: "On screen some people view me kindly, but before that when I had long hair and a beard, people would say, 'Why are you living like that? Are you having a hard time lately?' Not joking — I went to a restaurant once and a mother wouldn't accept payment," he said.
Later, on the "Only rumors" corner, the rumor that "there was an occasion when he left a restaurant without paying after eating" was mentioned, and Kim Min-jong, hearing this, explained, "It wasn't that I tried to leave without paying; I tried to pay but they wouldn't accept it."
He said, "There was a program called 'My Little Old Boy' on Channel S, wasn't there? It's something mothers watch a lot. At that time, I built a container house in Yangpyeong and filmed me living there, but the scary thing about broadcasting is that they packaged it as if I lived there. They made it seem like I was living inside the container. My mother had not been dead long then, and since she was laid to rest nearby, they completely packaged it as if I was living there. That is what the mothers on that program strongly saw," he said, creating a stir.
