As rumors linking comedian Cho Sae-ho to organized crime continued to multiply, the accuser A continued with additional revelations.
On the 5th, A posted on their SNS, "My post has caused a huge social upheaval and Cho Sae-ho will be in trouble," and wrote, "I know the famous influencers, entertainers and public officials who have connections with Mr. Choi."
They continued, "Of course people like Cho Sae-ho and Nam Chang-hee may understand gatherings with gangsters or friends who are gangsters because they are human. Aren't entertainers people too? If you are a public figure you should set an example. Is it believable that a public figure who should set an example for the public spent 10 years with organized crime figures and was just an acquaintance?" they retorted.
A said, "Heaven knows and the earth knows. Mr. Choi probably gave enormous gifts to his entertainer friend. Cho Sae-ho's conscience will speak. I do not hate Cho Sae-ho," adding, "If you knew Mr. Choi for 10 years you absolutely cannot not know what kind of person he is. Isn't the company one that Cho Sae-ho knows entirely and has visited? I can't understand why he would have a relationship with Mr. Choi."
They also hinted at further revelations, saying, "To someone from Cho Sae-ho's agency: before Cho Sae-ho's marriage, he introduced his current wife to Mr. Choi's house and I have photos of the drinking gatherings. I don't intend to make them public, but if you keep saying they're just acquaintances I will release them," and "Admit that they were longtime friends and close. I know that in Gangnam people know they treated each other like brothers."
A mentioned MBN's 'Kim Myung-jun's News Fighter' and thanked the anchor who represented their position, saying "thank you." The broadcast added criticism that "there is no core answer about whether the person at the center of the controversy is a key member of organized crime, what the business is, and so on."
Earlier, the accuser A claimed that Cho Sae-ho had a close relationship with Mr. Choi, who is alleged to have led illegal gambling and money laundering, and alleged collusion through franchise promotion and acceptance of expensive gifts. He posted photos of Cho Sae-ho and Mr. Choi closely with arms around each other or hugging, raising suspicion by saying, "Using the excuse of being acquaintances (while receiving expensive gifts from Mr. Choi, he promoted a franchise run by a member of organized crime. He frequented the most powerful violent organization in the Geochang area, Mr. Choi, drank with him and received expensive gifts) is it acceptable for a national comedian to behave like this?"
In response, Cho Sae-ho's agency A2Z Entertainment rebutted, "The suspicion that Cho Sae-ho is directly or indirectly involved in the actions of organized crime is merely the personal speculation of the tipster and is not true," and added, "The allegation that he received money or expensive gifts is also nothing more or less than personal speculation and unrelated to facts." They stated the two were "simply acquaintances," that "there were no compensation-based gifts or inappropriate relations," and added, "We are actively reviewing criminal and civil legal action against the tipster for crimes such as defamation by false statements and obstruction of business."
Recently, various noises and scandals have arisen around Cho Sae-ho's actions. In October this year his name was mentioned in criticism over W Korea's "breast cancer drinking party" controversy, and afterward he faced backlash for an interview with breast cancer patient Park Mi-seon on "You Quiz," with critics saying "there was no sincerity."
Meanwhile, Cho Sae-ho married former model Jeong Su-ji, who is nine years his junior, last October. The large-scale wedding, with over 900 guests, drew attention, and since then they have received interest by sharing their honeymoon in Italy on SNS.
