The accuser who raised allegations that comedian Cho Sae-ho was involved with organized crime suddenly deleted posts. At the same time, he revealed the possibility of blowing up his SNS account, adding to suspicions.
On the 7th, A, who raised allegations of a link between Cho Sae-ho and local gangster Mr. Choi, deleted posts from the SNS account where he had been continuing the exposés. Along with this, he posted a one-time story and left an explanatory note.
In the story he wrote, "I took down some posts; I'll put them back up when things are sorted out. The account might be wiped out. Right now they're digging into my personal details at the police and prosecution, but I'm not the criminal; money is scary though. Still, I won't give in. Don't misunderstand—this isn't about seeking attention or anything like that. Table prosecutor," he said.
A went on, "As in dramas, don't reporters sometimes know the truth but get killed or face external pressure? They know the truth, but in front of money and power you can't do anything. Korea is really dirty," suggesting the possibility of external pressure.
A also wrote a long post saying, "I am not demanding money for profit. I do not use KakaoTalk. I only use Instagram DMs and Telegram. People were posting on the Instagram of Geochang organized crime boss Mr. Choi; please explain," he wrote.
In the post, he claimed that Mr. Choi, described as the largest organized crime boss in the Geochang area, was friendly with Cho Sae-ho and added that the two were close. He also claimed that actress Song Seo-won was Mr. Choi's lover and had been invited to Cho Sae-ho's wedding. He additionally posted a table photo from Cho Sae-ho and his wife's wedding venue next to the name Song Sarang, which he said was Song Seo-won's real name. However, there are differences between the woman presumed to be Mr. Choi's girlfriend whom A disclosed and the appearance of Song Seo-won, and Song Seo-won's side has not issued a separate statement.
Earlier, A alleged that Cho Sae-ho was linked to local gangster Mr. Choi. He claimed Cho Sae-ho was close friends with Mr. Choi, a criminal who engages in illegal online gambling and other activities, and alleged collusion such as promoting franchises in return for compensation. He demanded that Cho Sae-ho explain his relationship with Mr. Choi, sparking controversy.
But Cho Sae-ho's side drew a line, saying he was merely an acquaintance of Mr. Choi and that the allegations of compensation were "groundless." They also said they plan legal action against online posts and malicious comments that indiscriminately spread the related allegations, including those by A. Later, Mr. Choi posted KakaoTalk chats that appeared to show he had been threatened for money by A, and denied anything more than being acquaintances with Cho Sae-ho.
Nevertheless, A said he does not use KakaoTalk and rebutted Mr. Choi's claims as false while suggesting the possibility of external pressure. He even continued further revelations, saying Cho Sae-ho's wife had sat with Mr. Choi at a drinking gathering. Meanwhile, A's SNS followers, which had been only about 100, surged into the tens of thousands, drawing attention to how this will unfold.
