Broadcaster Park Na-rae has continued to face controversy ranging from allegations of manager bullying to allegations of illegal medical practices, and it was revealed that her mother sent money to the two managers who claim to be victims.
According to one outlet on the 7th, Park Na-rae's mother deposited 10 million won each into the two managers' bankbooks at around 10 p.m. on the 4th. This came just seven hours after a report that the former managers had filed for a provisional seizure against Park Na-rae for an amount on the order of 100 million won.
The former managers immediately protested and returned the amount, and the attorney in charge sent a text message to Park Na-rae's side saying, "Do not take such actions." Park Na-rae also received the text and learned that her mother had sent money to the former managers.
A representative of Park Na-rae told OSEN, "Park Na-rae was in the process of organizing her position with her lawyers. It seems her mother acted alone out of worry."
However, because Park Na-rae's mother is the de facto representative of the agency Enpark, such actions could be judged unfavorably in court. In particular, the former managers sued Park Na-rae on charges including attempted special injury, and they also accused her of violating the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Economic Crimes (embezzlement), alleging she used company funds for personal purposes such as for an ex-boyfriend.
In response, Park Na-rae filed a complaint accusing the former managers of extortion, saying they demanded large sums of money based on false claims. With full legal action hinted at, attention is focused on how their conflict will be resolved.
Meanwhile, in connection with the allegations of illegal medical practices by Park Na-rae, a complaint was filed through the national petition system, and Park Na-rae's side told OSEN, "Park Na-rae only received vitamin injections from someone who holds a medical license," denying the allegations of illegal medical practice.
However, there are no signs that Park Na-rae will suspend activities. Starting with Save Me! Homes this week, I Live Alone and Amazing Saturday also aired normally without editing out Park Na-rae, and an associate of Park Na-rae told OSEN, "It is true she is having a hard time because of the sudden situation, but we judged that we cannot harm the cast and production staff who create the programs together," adding, "Even in this situation she is determined to do her best to continue activities as far as she can."
