Cooking researcher Lee Hye-jung revealed a heartbreaking family story. She said she has cut ties with her son.
On the 6th episode of MBN's entertainment program "Talk-It-Out Show Dongchimie," Lee Hye-jung appeared and candidly spoke about wounds and conflicts within her family. That day she said, "It's been quite a while since I cut ties with my son," and confessed, "Since an incident in December last year, I haven't seen his face until now."
Lee Hye-jung said, "I worked with my son, who was in charge of the export department, at the request of a Japanese buyer," and "We worked hard for three days, and the buyers placed many orders, so I thought 'it helped my child,'" she said. However, an argument erupted at the after-party following the contract.
She explained, "If we'd just eaten and finished, it would have been fine, but I suggested 'let's have a drink,' so we went to a bar. My son didn't drink a single sip and stayed in a corner. He, who is good at Japanese, remained silent, so I couldn't communicate and felt frustrated and angry."
Ultimately, her emotions exploded when she woke her son, who was sleeping, in the early morning. Lee Hye-jung said, "When I said, 'How could you do that to me?' my son said, 'That's not helping. You don't have to buy food and drinks and sell like that for a good product,'" and she said, "I grabbed his collar."
Lee Hye-jung said, "My son said, 'That may not be their way.' That wasn't exactly wrong, but I was very angry," and added, "On the spot I said, 'Don't ever show up in front of me, even as dust, until you die.'"
She returned home and explained the situation to her husband, but he reacted neutrally, saying, "What our son said isn't entirely wrong." In response, Lee Hye-jung said, "I didn't even want to ride in that car anymore," and later confessed she sent a text to her son saying, "I wouldn't care even if you died."
She said, "I couldn't sleep for three days and cried. Since then I have had no contact with my son at all," and added, "I installed additional CCTV in case he might come home, and I changed the locks," shocking viewers.
Recently, her son reportedly knelt and offered an apology. But Lee Hye-jung said, "I'm grateful for the apology, but why does he add, 'It wasn't intentional,' afterward?" expressing bitterness. Still, she left a cautious opening for reconciliation, saying, "Still... well."
It is also well known that Lee Hye-jung suffered for a long time over her husband's affair. Last year, appearing on MBN's entertainment program "Once, decide to divorce," Lee Hye-jung shocked viewers by confessing she witnessed Kim Guhwan's affair in front of acquaintances. She said, "One day I grabbed my husband's dress shirt with my hands. I was so furious," and described, "He was about to go out to buy something when a car suddenly passed in front of our car. A woman was sitting next to my husband. When I called out, she quickly turned and fled."
Afterwards, Lee Hye-jung said she saw her husband with another woman once more at a playground. She said, "I was so angry I tried to rip his dress shirt with my hands. It didn't work well, so I tore it into pieces with scissors," and confessed, "Looking back now, that was out of rage. Sometimes I wanted to kill him." Nevertheless, Lee Hye-jung appears on broadcasts, drawing attention as she strives to keep her family together.
