No Sa-yeon opened up on broadcast for the first time about past worries over adoption.
On the 6th broadcast of MBN entertainment show "Sokpuli Show Dongchimie," Lee Hye-jung, Yoon Nan-hee, Kim Mi-ryeong and Joo Young-hoon appeared and talked on the theme "like father, like son."
On that broadcast, No Sa-yeon recalled, "After having a son, I waited seven years for a second child. I tried artificial insemination because I couldn't get pregnant, but it failed," she said. She went on, "My husband (Lee Mu-song) went on a volunteer trip and asked, 'Shall we adopt a girl?' There was a child at the facility he visited who was so pretty he really wanted to adopt her, and he treated me very well saying he wanted my consent."
But No Sa-yeon had a great fear. She said, "I had my son late and left him with a nanny grandmother to raise. I couldn't give my biological child love directly, so I was afraid I couldn't give that love to a child I didn't give birth to."
Her mother-in-law even stepped in and persuaded her, saying, "The father really wants a daughter, so let's adopt." No Sa-yeon said, "We went to see her once. She was pretty, but I couldn't bring myself to adopt and seriously considered it," reflecting on her then-immature self. She confessed, "Looking back now, I wish we had done it then. My son was about 7 to 8 years old at the time. I regret not adopting."
But after her mind wavered and she cautiously brought up "Shall we try adopting?" to her husband again, Lee Mu-song had already delivered another reality. No Sa-yeon calmly recounted the regretful moment, saying, "My husband said, 'She had already left.'"
Meanwhile, "Sokpuli Show Dongchimie" is a program that relieves pent-up feelings and airs every Saturday at 11 p.m. on MBN. <
