Broadcaster Park Na-rae was embroiled in allegations of illegal medical practices, and her agency disputed them.
On the 6th, a representative of Park Na-rae's agency, Anpark Co., Ltd., told OSEN regarding the allegations of illegal medical practices, "All that happened was receiving vitamin injections from someone who has a medical license."
That day, Dispatch released photos and conversation content supporting the allegations of Park Na-rae's illegal medical practices. According to the report, Park Na-rae reportedly received IV drips at ordinary homes rather than medical institutions from the so-called "injection aunt" or had antidepressant prescriptions arranged on her behalf.
Earlier, Lee & Ko attorney Lee Se-jung, legal representative for Park Na-rae, said to a media outlet, "After comprehensively reviewing the related materials, the parties' statements and conversations, and text messages, there is nothing legally problematic about Park Na-rae's medical treatment," and "Park Na-rae, due to a busy shooting schedule that made visiting a hospital difficult, simply requested a house call from the doctor and nurse at the hospital she usually visits and received an IV drip, which is a legitimate medical service widely used by ordinary patients," the firm said.
However, Dispatch claimed that the "injection aunt" is not a doctor and therefore argued that all medical procedures Park Na-rae received were illegal. Regarding this, Park Na-rae's side said the injection aunt "is believed to be a doctor."
A representative of the agency explained, "(She) first met (the injection aunt) at the hospital. After that they became close, and because her schedule was tight, she requested house calls whenever it was difficult."
Meanwhile, Park Na-rae was recently accused by former managers of abuse of power, assault, and embezzlement. Her agency dismissed these as "claims that do not reflect the facts," saying, "As time went on, they kept adding new claims and continued to pressure Park Na-rae and our company, and the amounts they demanded gradually increased to hundreds of millions of won. Park Na-rae has suffered great mental distress and shock due to the sudden resignations of staff who worked with her, baseless continuing claims, increasing demands for money, and pressure through the media," they said, describing the harm. The agency then filed a complaint against the former managers on extortion charges.
